Re: Troost developments

Is that going into the old Flavor Trade spot? I noticed the work being done. I believe it is owned by the Denver developers of the Campbell Bakery across the corner.

Re: 3260 Main

Looks similar to the 39th St proposal. Is it the same developer? Hopefully this is the first of many developments like this along Main in Midtown with the streetcar extension. There was a BizJournal article a while back about streetcar extension development possibilities and the owner of the ABC bui...

Re: Westport

Design qualms aside, it's great to see a development proposal here (especially one of good density). This really isn't the greatest lot/location and it makes all the more head-scratching why some of the more prime lots around Westport remain surface lots or underdeveloped.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Good catch. Looks like the typical NSPJ design, although it seems to feature a little less stucco and more brick/cast stone. If the materials are right, I think this could look decent enough. I like that the garage is completely hidden and the entrances seem minimal. Does anyone remember the details...

Re: Troost developments

Wonderful news! So the city already owns the SE corner and Mac owns the SW. So I guess the only remaining parcel is the Abnos owned former hotel building? Any progress on that front? Would Mac go ahead with the project without that property?

Re: Sporting Kansas City

There has been talk of expanding the current stadium with a potential of adding 8k seats. There was a threshold that was cited for the season ticket wait list that the owners thought would justify building the expansion (maybe 10k on the waitlist). It sounds like the waitlist has actually been dimin...

Re: Troost developments

KCtoBrooklyn, you seem to hear about the same projects I do. Anything that you can share? I have been a little out of the loop lately. I can add some info on 911 E Linwood. As reported, there have been a number of people kicking the tires, but not many haven't gotten too far along. There is one dev...

Re: Troost developments

Anyone know if the the other corner parcel (northeast corner) is also slated for development? Look at the post directly above yours. Did you mean to ask about the southeast corner? I believe it is slated for development as well, but I don't know if there are any concrete plans. I'm guessing it will...

Re: KC sci|tech|startups|entrepreneurial thread

KC ranks 29th according to this tech talent index, so basically about same ranking as market size. It claims a significant 39% increase of tech talent in KC since 2011... https://mapping.cbre.com/maps/Scoring-Tech-Talent-2017/ STL ranked 35th, Columbus 28th. I'm not exactly sure of their methodolog...

PNC Park faces south. It is definitely not the preferred orientation, but clearly, some exceptions are made.

Does the east side of Campbell get to vote, or only the west side of the block? I am on the east and never received my ballot. I have heard the same from others on Campbell.

I think there is zero chance it makes it to the tax auction. All the current owner has to do is pay of a portion of the tax debt or set up a payment plan. I doubt they will lose the property.

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

I haven't heard anything or seen anything to indicate that would be the case with the Bainbridge (and with how hot a topic the Bainbridge is in the neighborhood, I would be surprised if that happened without much hoopla). I did happen to recently notice a "for lease" sign on the building t...

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel

Where was the Plaza site they proposed? The Plaza doesn't have many lots left to develop with recent announcements, if any large enough unless tearing something down. The Hyatt proposal on the Plaza was where the office tower is now slated to go on Pennsylvania. The vacant lot to the east of that s...

Re: KC metro growth and migration stats

The estimate for the KC Metro population growth rate for last year was 1%. At that rate, it will take about 29 years to reach Denver's current population of 2.8M and about 60 years to reach Seattle at 3.8M. However, that doesn't figure in Lawrence and St. Joe being added to KC's MSA, which will prob...

Re: Three Light

I was told by one of the contractors on 2 Light they would start 3 Light after 2 Light is topped out, at which time the crane will be moved to the other lot. Interior work will continue on 2 Light while they start 3 Light. That approach would make a lot of sense and it's what I would hope to see. H...
