Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

Thinking about buying an investment property at 36th/Wyandotte (between Main and Broadway). Do you all think the area will continue to develop into a thriving area or stay more of a block to block neighborhood? Also -- is the streetcar to UMKC (or some type of extension) actually going to happen? Co...

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal

Regardless — an eatery that will be open on the weekends, and for breakfast nonetheless is needed downtown. The yoga studio will bring another livable component that all neighborhoods need to have to thrive. Jane Jacobs talks about how city centers need to have businesses that are open throughout di...

It amazes me how slowly KC development moves. Scheduled to open in 2020 for a 10-15 story building? Could they put a rush on this...?

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

If only KC were as progressive as Dallas...one key issue I see arising with downtown is the lack of public greenspace in the heart of thriving communities. There are no parks in Crossroads or in the River Market that are traversed daily by several different groups of people. Capping the loop would t...

Thanks for sharing! Do we have an opening date? Looks like it'll be ready in early 2018 if not sooner.

Re: Crossroads needs greenspace

Totally agree here -- one of the most crucial parts of a thriving urban space is a multi-use green space. Perhaps they can make a "KC Highline" when they close the loop?

Re: Downtown New Residential Units

We could be entering a bubble or a simple cooling of what has been a red hot market. Do not forget downtown's population has more than doubled in the last decade and there will soon be an additional 20-30% increase in the housing stock based on current projects underway. If phase II of the streetcar...

Re: OFFICIAL - East9 (former Pickwick Plaza)

This is a great addition to Dow town KC that will bring life to a quieter part of the core. I am pumped to see this project come to life. If the stats are true, 70% of 260 apartments is roughly 200 new residents bringing more life and $$$ downtown. Great project!

Update: I bought a place and have been renting it out on Airbnb for 3-weeks. Totally booked up in July and have strong demand for August. Lots of my renters are tourists (surprisingly) and some here for work. Lots of interest about everything going on downtown.

I checked the 21c website and they have KC listed as opening in 2017, and all construction here looks like it's a go for sure. They pride themselves on attention to detail and on the artistic nature of their properties. I am not sure about the name, but I am fully confident they will open an incredi...
