Re: Downtown KCK
Seems like a plan to redevelop it is in the works. Let the building go to shit, kick tenants out, then redevelop. It’s a shitty move but likely

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity
The building on SE corner of 10th and walnut has had some light demo activity going on lately. Couldn't find a thread on that building, it was boarded up a year or more ago? Got confirmation this is being turned into condos. Maybe 18? Not a bad usage. Will be small condos though, so hopefully more ...

Reposting this before and after image of San Diego. Not saying the same thing will happen in the Crossroads, but Petco Park certainly helped the neighborhood develop.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Why would we keep the K if we have a downtown ballpark? The impression I get from Kull's post is that if they had to do this again, squash any indication that a demise is imminent for the K. Make the sales pitch solely for a new stadium and leave the discussion for what happens to K for a later tim...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
If the Royals were smart they would de-couple the K from their ask for a tax to support a downtown stadium plan. The "Save the K" crowd would instantly be mooted if there was no indication that the K was "Going away". The county preparing a demo RFP and the Royals indicating tha...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
My opinion on development east of Oak is that you can demolish everything north of the U-Haul building on Locust as well as the building at 1500 Oak and the newer building at 1620 Locust. Those sites are large enough for some new buildings. Vacate 16th between Oak and Locust. The small gaps on Oak, ...

Re: The Midland Lofts (formerly Midland Office Building)
Wanna hear something wild? The Midland Lofts website says 53 apartments are available of the 135 being built. Already 60% leased if that's the case. Could they open with a 90%+ occupancy number? Are these the P&L District "affordable" units? If so, shows there is a market for that in ...

At this point in time, I don’t think there are any voters left, who plan to vote in this election, who don’t have their minds made up. Any further community outreach events, door knocking, hating on each other on social media and in the media, displaying yard signs, etc are all wasted time. Whether...

Wonder if those occupancy numbers mean another project announcement coming soon? Or will they wait until midland begins leasing How do 1-2 light look Apartments.com says One Light has 30 units available. Property website says 12 available. Photos from today. Per the property website, there are only 32 apartments left. Apartments.com says 36 are available. So we're looking at 87.5%-89% occupied. I knew it was looking more full recently based on the number of lights on at night. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53606830865_9ec82c664e...

Re: Redevelopment of old Quartermaster Depot site at Hardesty and Indy Ave.
Is that a roof top pool or just an awning? This is going to be a big shot in the arm for the Northeast, Independence Ave, even Truman Rd. Rooftop pool and amenity deck (a great idea considering the view). Although I expect the pool could've been removed since the rendering was produced. That render...

Ridership continues to blast past expectations. Now they're having a new issue: they can't keep up with demand. Brightline ordered additional passenger cars to try and help with capacity issues, but it's a good situation to have. As a result, they're restricting capacity on some shorter rides. https...

Additional renderings were posted to Compass highlighting the retail and parking entrance on 16th as well as the parking entrance on Truman Road. I don't see any other changes made to the plan. A public meeting was also held a few days ago. Per the meeting summary document uploaded to Compass, there...

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village
East Village doesn't need to be loaded with retail and restaurant space, but a handful of small corner spaces for neighborhood amenities (neighborhood bar, a small bank, bakery, clothing store, neighborhood market, etc) would be ideal.

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza
For Barney Allis, I'd be willing to organize Food Truck Fridays and movie nights on the plaza in the summer months. I just don't know how to go about that. The new BAP would be ideal for this since I wouldn't have to be scared of the current one collapsing. For Ilus Davis, the issue is that it's dis...
