Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
You can replace Nashville with any non-MLB market. If there is a market willing to pay up to lure a MLB team, the Royals have the be high on the list as teams that could possibly relocate. I don't think an ASG from 11 years ago and ASG voting from 10 years ago is best argument to show how much KC wo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Looking more and more like KC is getting the St. Louis Rams treatment from team owners. Step 1: Tank the team to discourage attendance. Step 2: Float some stadium proposals that have no chance at passing because people aren't interested due to the team tanking. Step 3: Say you tried to get stadium d...

The Big 12 is adding Mexico, for basketball and football.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Finally had my opportunity to use the new terminal. I compared it to LAS and OAK (both seemed like average airports). I really felt that KCI was much nicer. We have charging stations and cup holders on our seats, neither of which were available at the other two airports. I really enjoyed the "n...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
I noticed this when checking the arena for events while in town. That arena is not that busy anymore and when you include arenas with pro teams, it's probably one of the least active in the country. While 6 total events for June and July sounds bad, what arena has more during that time? Los Angeles...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
100 events would mean 100 periods of activation, and new people coming into the area, would it not? No, that's not what that would mean. Again, best case for an MLS stadium is 30 events, and days of activation. I fail to see how the two sites are comparable in the urban context, as one is activated...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
100 "events"? Sure. Something going on 100 days out of 365? No. Looks like there are about 60 days with an event in all of 2023. You can count them here: http://www.t-mobilecenter.com/events An MLS stadium wouldn't be that much different. Even if it's only about 30 days with an event, the ...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
An avg 19,000 attendance for 17 days of activation plus a handful of other cup games and concerts. So let’s say a comfortable 30 events. How does that somehow justify the land area taken up in an urban area? You've just described the T-Mobile Center. The T-Mobile center hosts over 100 events annual...

So, they're ok with 4,400 fans in a 5,000-seat arena?

Re: Union Station....
Union Station will often put different signs or displays there through out the year. They may stay a little longer, but I can't imagine they'd be permanently placed there.

Also, those awesome "KANSAS CITY" signs, which I assume are coming down sometime within the next few days, now say "KANSA... S CITY".

Main Street opened yesterday.
They kept Pershing closed for a while longer, but it's open now too.

Why not just install traffic signals over each crosswalk? Do we not have enough pedestrian traffic for that?

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
4. I was kind of surprised by the volume of pedestrians walking from the garage into the terminal. Not seen that at KCI before (the outdoor approaches to the old terminal were normally bereft of people). It actually took some time getting past the crosswalks in our vehicle as we were leaving. Some ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I have used the airport at different times and there has been NO back up in the arrivals lanes. I think more people are using the cell phone lot and the police are doing a better job at enforcing the pick up policy. But the scuff marks on the floor at the bag claim makes the entire airport feel so d...
