Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)
We don't even try here. We let contractors and utility companies come up with any excuse and the city waives any required pedestrian access we have on the books Baltimore street isn't a busy walking street anyway, I rarely see people walking on Baltimore between 12th and 14th. There's very little r...

Re: Rankings, lists, and such
When I ask why outsiders who lived in STL left, the common answer is around tense/uptight people, not crime, and those who stay is for the job. this one could also be related to the fact that there is a massive boomer population in st. louis, and less a regional characteristic. people tend to be fa...

Re: NFL Draft
Honestly, having it at Union Station is KC lame, I hope they change their minds. Block off Grand Street, between Truman and 10th Street or so and set up beer/food vendors in the empty lots. You have PnL right there that would benefit greatly. Set up some big screen tvs/large tents and put an artific...

Re: Bringing Conventions to Kansas City
KC won't have the turnout Nashville did and like KCP stated, KC just isn't a party town like Vegas, NO or Nashville. I wouldn't want that vibe downtown all the time anyway. Can you image if our Broadway street was lined with bars for 8-10 blocks...that would be a nightmare and I'm guessing a lot of...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
So a buddy of mine that lives in OKC said they are already expanding their 4.6 mile initial line and have ordered 2 more streetcars. I don't understand why our extensions are taking forever to materialize. Also their main 4.6 mile line cost $136M or so? Seems our 2.2 mile line cost at least that muc...

Nice pics. Why does the South view have that stone/tan wall? I don't remember seeing that in the renderings. I would have preferred all glass, but still looks nice. Yeah and I wish it was 30 stories.

Re: OFFICIAL - Lightwell (formerly City Center Square)
Heard from a few facility folks at 1KCP and they both said the proposed Target is supposed to be 3-4 floors, not just one floor. The escalator on the 1st floor is supposed to come down and the 3-4 floor atrium will be completely rebuilt. Urban Targets can be as small as 17K sqft, typically in 17K-5...

Just a few restaurants where you can walk up and get a couple tacos or gyro would be nice. And I can't believe there is still not a McDonalds or Wendy's downtown.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
Big fan of this going from one report of one place not being busy one Friday night to downtown KC is dead and nothing will make it unless we add a pro team and 10s of thousands of employees and residents. I love you KC rag. But just wait until the Big 12 tournament, then downtown will be bigly :). ...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
Downtown still hasn't recovered from AT&T emptying out the Town Pavilion, SHB moving to CC and AMC leaving for Leawood. HRB moved downtown, which is probably a wash with AMC, but a lot of Companies had moved to the Plaza pre-PnL, and it's just going to take time to build up downtown's corporate ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)
One big new tower would be nice though, especially on the lot north of the Sprint Center. Something like the Devon Energy Tower in OKC would be beautiful and really add balance to the skyline. Three Light also needs to get built because the skyline looks off without it.

Re: Three Light
Yeah I thought I read somewhere that ground breaking was Spring 2019? Three Light has already been approved incentives. But I do think Cordish is dragging their feet a bit, probably after the City council made such a big fuss out of a legally binding contract.

Never get why people get so worked up about a project when it is not even near completion. And the Arts Center is perfect the way it is.

LOL...yes they do. There are probably 4 open spots, with the Tex-Mex joint taking up 2 spots for some odd reason. I miss the old McDonalds that was in there.
