Re: News from Omaha
TBH, the only thing that's different between Omaha and KC is that Omaha's downtown bank/bank-like companies want vanity towers and KC's equivalents...do not.

If anyone is curious about how the rest of this went down, feel free to DM me. The short version of this was “I own it, I’ll do what I want with it, and eff you".

I should be live-tweeting this; this is comedy gold. Doug Price hasn’t ever ridden the streetcar himself, and wants to wait until he can "see how the streetcar feels" to decide how to move forward with the parcel.

Doug Price is at tonight’s Union Hill neighborhood association meeting. This should be…fun.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I’m on a Delta flight from Portland to Seattle this afternoon. As it’s a regional jet, I gate-checked my bag and noticed that both of the people in front of me had KC as their final destination. I commented on that to the gate agent, so she checked - *40* people on this flight are going to KC. That’...

Re: Price Mgmt Project at 31st and Main
I'm sure the updated rendering has nothing at all to do with tomorrow's deadline for public input before the next CPC meeting on the 20th. While I'm likely one of the few people living in this neighborhood who'd be fine if that tower as currently proposed got built (in a timely manner), my Spidey-Se...

The East Crossroads has one of the densest concentration of breweries...anywhere at this point, and you can easily make an entire day of it in that area alone. Three of them are brewpubs - City Barrel, Brewery Emperial, and Torn Label. Of those three, Torn Label is my favorite for food, but the othe...

The official weather readings for the city are at KCI - that tracks with the mention of "between 1972 and 2000" from the second article.
Before KCI opening, I'd guess city weather readings were from the downtown airport, and before then...city hall?

Air Canada will almost certainly share one of the United gates (as they do currently).
JetBlue will *probably* start out in A8, but if/when their acquisition of Spirit goes through, they could wind up in B as well.

Unsurprisingly, this project came up during the last week's Union Hill neighborhood association meeting.
The board said they've heard absolutely nothing from Fidelity recently and that Hallmark still owns the parcel, so if it is still happening, it's gone *very* quiet.

After being quiet for a while, the renovation work at Sol Cantina has picked up pace in the past week or two, but as the interior is still being framed, I'm guessing it's still a few months away from reopening in any capacity. Also...the grand plans for remaking it and Brick House aren't getting a w...

I'm fairly certain that we've had precisely the number of people file as there have been open positions on the TDD board since the initial election, so that's why it's never been on the ballot since.
The filing period appears to be in December.

Chef J BBQ has been great every time I've been there, and has the additional advantages of a) being open multiple days a week and b) being much closer to me than Harp is.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
The south half of B is the closest overall to the runways, so from an operations perspective, it makes sense why Southwest would want it. Also, I'm sure that Air Canada will share a gate with United, so it looks like we'll have the airport fairly neatly divided up by airline alliance/market segment....

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I'd wager that Spirit didn't get its own gate due to the uncertainty around either JetBlue or Frontier acquiring the airline.
