Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Seems like the lines not intersecting would be a huge miss. They would have to. You can't really get to KCK from NKC without intersecting the main line (probably at 12th), unless you run it like a trolley boat! https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f2/TCRT_Trolley_Boat.jpg You would take...

Sounds like his article is based off of her later corrected statements. I doubt baseball goes here. I do agree that a much much smaller stadium should be built.

Re: Americo Plaza Tower (Former Holiday Inn)

So Plaza Bowl has no effect here. Looks like you could fit a 20-floor residential building under the current zoning. A 30-floor residential building is a minimum of 270'. The American Century tower is 236' albeit at the top of the hill. This capstone apartment tower could end up being effectively wi...

Americo Plaza Tower (Former Holiday Inn)

From Jasty 5, a 30-floor tower and other structures are being kicked around by Americo. It nows looks like the Holiday Inn will be coming down within a few days. I found a general schedule for the demolition of the existing structure. No permits or plans for new construction have been filed. Start D...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Best case scenario is buyer sets up US HQ in this building moving some from other US acquisitions here and it doesn't become spec space on the market, so might give Strata a chance. OTOH, the flipside is they may find a loophole and fill most of the building on paper to keep the incentives but allo...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

I doubt that this project halts. The new owner would have to pay big $$$ to get out of the contract. The new owners would be better off subleasing to cover some of their expenses.

I thought the city was doing this as cheap as they possibly could.
They took a look at this site but determined the below-grade parking to be too $$$$$. Moved to Broadyway/YMCA options

Re: 14th and Wyandotte Tower

The city looked at this site for a BAP replacement garage. Sounded like the new owner was willing to partner with the City to do a below-ground convention garage + development over top. A below-ground garage here was not seen as cost-effective as new garages by YMCA and KCS.

Re: Plaza Environs

I think this may be mentioned on other threads, but I can't seem to find it. I am hearing that a proposed project at 45th and main (old Holiday Inn) is picking up steam. BMcD is doing the architecture, and the owner is Americo, same owner as Waddell & Reed. Design is apparently progressing and ...

Indoor Market Place. The high ceiling and glass would make it feel like the great outdoors without climate control issues. I read that downtown construction is down compared to the rest of the metro. Sounds like we are in need of wave 3.

Was a below-ground connector between the P&L garage and the Sprint block ever considered?
