Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
Huge loss for my neighborhood. The building already has extra space available on the top floor too. Probably a good example of a private real estate firm trying to squeeze too much. I wonder what could move in there now with that much space available.

the difference is the voters were given a chance to vote for the streetcar. If I could play devil's advocate...would it be fair to say that driving through the interchange is a "vote" for the importance of the infrastructure? 230,000 drivers do so daily. So if you're going to compare fund...

I'm kind of pessimistic on this ever turning into anything. I predict a walmart-anchored strip center before it's all over.

Awesome! This is now the Landmark Lofts. I almost asked who we had to blame for the loss of this building when I saw the tense you used, before I realized what it was. I should have mentioned that, but couldn't remember the name of the lofts - even though I drive by it every day on my way home from...

Here's a few more... As I mentioned, the book is kind of a promotional piece to attract conventions - kind of like we seem to be trying now... Photos from 1900 - Imperial Kansas City
Found a book called "Imperial Kansas City" which seems to be a promotion piece for conventions in the city at the time. Lots of photos in this thing. Should I share or is this something everyone's seen already? https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2918/13764361124_596b113226_z.jpg One of many fu...

Can't wait for the games to begin here in KC. I would like to see some wins soon though. On that note, Yost is getting a little unwelcome press: Let's set the scene. Yesterday's Royals-Tigers game, top of the eighth, two outs, and the tying run on second, and Alcides Escobar at the plate for Kansas ...
