Re: Record Bar on Westport Road
Below is some info from the weekly Sad Dog email regarding the new Record Bar. It sounds as if they are going to be doing a lot of live music. Should be a good deal. I liked Malloy's OK, but it didn't have a great atmoshphere. It was definitely a step in the right direction from Finnegans - but it l...

Re: Downtown baseball still alive?
either way, be willing to bet you whatever you'd like, we will all be watching the royals in kauffman in 2015. at the truman sports complex, where it is now. You're probably right - but it will most likely be a losing team. I love Kauffman - been a fan my whole life and a 20 game season ticket hold...

Re: KC Slammed in Newsrag
I go to Denver 1-2 times a year and I haven't really fallen in love with the place, but it's nice enough. I think they've done a decent job with the downtown. I'm usually wearing a Royals hat at some point and I get a lot of nice remarks. Most of the people I know there have KS or KC ties - so they ...

Re: South OP Magazine
I don't have to worry about parking, or any major city problems." What exactly is a "major city problem?" You can't be talking about traffic - because OP and other suburban areas have much worse traffic than the city. And you already mentioned parking (which isn't that hard in KCMO)....

Re: Kansas City Prefers NHL?
I'm not sure the exhibition attendance is a clear indication of interest, or just a result of a solid marketing effort by NHL21. They market the one exhibition game beginning with the early spring training baseball. So, there are six months of ads to drive 18,500 fans - which they acheive every year...

Re: Kansas City Prefers NHL?
I would prefer NBA - but will support either. I also think it's important to mention that the NBA vs NHL ticket price discrepancy is not as cut and dry as some would assume. I can't find a lot of sources but... "According to Team Marketing Report, the average price of an NBA ticket climbed to $...

Re: KC Toaster's
Just ate there for lunch today. Good chicken salad sandwich. They also did a nice job with the inside. Oh - and they give you a free cookie with the sandwich. At least they were today (and it's a good cookie). Hopefully this place will stick.

Re: Elvis Parade
I was trying to leave downtown for lunch and got caught on Wyandotte for a minute and William Hung drove right by my car at about 2 mph. I got a wave too. I've never been so star struck in my life. I noticed driving back from lunch that the parade-goers looked awfully hot (and I don't mean good look...

Re: Where do you get groceries?
I go to Sunfresh Westport for anything packaged or in boxes. For produce and meat - I usually hit the Fairway Henhouse. I've noticed that the Sunfresh is getting better with regards to cleanliness and even a little better on the service. I've even started buying a little meat there again - but not m...

Yeah, I post on Royalboard - probably too much. Definitely seen you on there before.
So does Catfish (aka Mendy - sorry to "out" you). He's a friend a mine - I was just giving him a hard time.

God Catfish, ever heard of google? What are we, your personal researchers? You'd think someone with intimate knowledge of teaching hospitals might have a clue on this! Just kidding. 27th and Paseo. Here's a cool KC Library link: http://kclibrary.org/localhistory/list.cfm?list=sub&SubjectareaID=1...

I really have no idea, and I'm sure you've explored these options. But, I'm new here - so I'll throw them out there. -Will the newly redone library on Baltimore let you do anything on their roof? They have events/movies up there occasionally. -Not exactly romantic, but I'm sure the people at John's ...
