You can't have 10 parking spaces for every 300 people though.

Should there be ANY entities that receive tax exempt status? UNICEF donations? Salvation Army? United Way? PETA? etc.

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?
If you are looking to buy a house and make a tidy profit off of it in a short amount of time, you shouldn't look in the city. If you are interested in investing in a neighborhood with your presence, home ownership, and energy, and are interested in helping the city (especially by paying property t...

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?
The whole problem in those areas is 39th and Main. Why can't they just park a police officer on that corner 24/7? Thinking about it again. You're kind of right about all the activity between Main and Broadway, especially, AGAIN around 39th street. Where can people find a house that is safe in the...

I think it's kind of sketchy over there. I have friends that have lived over there and everyone has been broken into at least once. I think it's because the homes are close together and the trees make it rather dark. But, if you're a pioneer and have a big dog, more power to ya. But, if your tha...

A replacement for Fang, I am not. However, the building that burned down upon completion in 1900, was the Convention Hall. It was on the block immediately north of Municipal Auditorium, where Barney Allis Plaza is today. The Convention Center was demolished upon completion of Municipal, in 1935....

I was riding by Municipal on a MAX bus today and I read something on the north side of the building I have never noticed before, but today it stood out. The engraved text says something like....this building was erected do to the vision and spirit of the people. It was something like that. It see...

If the Democrats can't win after 8 years of Bush, a drawn out war, a terrible economy and overall dissatisfaction with the government, shouldn't they just give up and disband? Wouldn't they just have to totally decide to reinvent themselves? Start over?

This is also why I don't see why the city approved the redevelopment of Armour for section 8 properties. Those would be ideal for students, young couples, young professionals, etc. Those are beautiful properties and the city just wasted them!

Re: Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
I've never been to Studio so my thoughts could be useless or they could give an unbiased outside opinion. I envisioned this place as more of an upscale, take my wife out for fine dining and fancy drinks kind of place. But then the name of the place doesn't really emply that. It says, casual hango...

Is 909 fully rented?
Also, I wonder if those rental units on Armour could be an alternative to rentals downtown. You are a 5 minute Max bus ride to everything and also to the Plaza.

I kind of like the anonymity of this board, but it would be cool to have t-shirts (nothing that says 'kcrag') that you would see people wearing around town and wonder who they were. But, at the least it would be good to have a Flying Saucer site get together to meet people.
