Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The other opposition groups essentially have zero funding but they’re loud. FYSA KCT's latest financial filings show they have a few million dollars in cash assets. Don't make the same mistake others make in failing to recognize this. They're not from humble beginnings, and they're certainly not a ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
From https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article285655497.html The Royals said last week that their plan is to buy the properties and then hand title to the county, which would own the stadium. So the county owns the stadium? Then it’s not building a stadium for a billionaire at all...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
I didn't see any invites for that even either. Virtually everyone I know would have wanted to go, myself included. Blaming a lack of new construction would be one hell of an ironic statement to make though.

Re: Chiefs Super Bowl Parade - 2024
Far too difficult to implement security checkpoints when an event is drawing hundreds of thousands over a mile+ of area. To be a truly secure event, you’d need to vacate all buildings during these events on the parade route. We shouldn’t lock ourselves up and away because of this tragedy. We can co...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I remain disheartened that so many members of this forum support the wanton destruction of organic urban development for a baseball stadium when there are other, reasonable options. While money may satisfy some folks, for others it may provide little or no consolation. So-called successful real est...

Re: What the area needs
Alright man - the state needs to reevaluate its policies. What is happening right now is obviously not working. What the area DOES NOT NEED is more gun violence. It’s out of hand and this impacts the city’s reputation nationally. Important for people, companies and conventions that might come here....

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, you read a lot into my couple of sentences. I am simply stating what a witness said. I make no statement at all regarding what kind of weapon was fired (although I do know the differences). There's absolutely no misinformation in my statement. You asked how a machine gun could be carried into ...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How does someone carry a machine gun to a parade without being stopped or questioned? It would be one thing if it had been someone intending to do a mass shooting, but it sounds like the shooting was a crime of passion. Because "Machine gun" is a terrible description of what the person wa...

Re: What the area needs
And maybe an age requirement to buy a firearm? Or at least a high threshold of gun safety education for a minor? It’s wild that a juvenile is not prohibited. It should at least mirror federal law. Let’s start there. Yes. This law-abiding citizen clearly purchased an expensive, legally acquired fire...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Highly doubt it was planned. Gun sounds and randomness points to gangs running into each other at worst time possible. Been watching CNN. As the witnesses are now describing the event and the capture of a couple of the potential shooters, that seems to be the case. The man who helped tackle one of ...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Kansas City flunked its Spanish test. A proposed ordinance aims to bridge City Hall’s language gap One in 20 Kansas City residents have limited proficiency in English. A proposed change would force City Hall to use languages they understand. https://kcbeacon.org/stories/2024/02/09/kc-language-acces...

Correction: American criminal culture.
We enable this, in so many different ways. Poor education standards, lack of personal responsibility, etc.

Lol go find the spaceship. You missed the early years. That's where we are now Someone must have the original rendering of Sprint center? I'm avoiding saying who we went against to not draw this off. I have all the original renderings and concepts. I was here for the early days. The spaceship was o...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
I would like to understand why this area on the Missouri side is not building, and I can't fault KCT. The problem is too broad. Developers complain more about the city and the slowness. Time is money and they get frustrated. I agree with a lot of what you say, but on this you are dead wrong. KCT ha...
