Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That’s not what the Royals proposed for EV though. The renderings released back then (EV vs NKC) were hotel, office and retail spaces if I remember right. Not a bar district to compete with PnL. The Current stadium is also Exhibit A of “its own new area” secluded on the riverfront. 11k people found...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'll go to my grave that the EV location could have been built out just like EC is proposed and it would have fed the P&L. I've seen people walk a mile to get to a KC Current NWSL game, you can't tell me they wouldn't walk to EV to/from a game. It's water under the bridge at this point. Someday...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That Northloop site looks a lot smaller? Six square blocks. More than East Crossroads, and that's what makes me mad. It was dismissed for being "too small" and then they chose something smaller. I think it was more than that. Namely the fact it was a shit site for a baseball stadium.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
How the hell did we get this far down the line -- including another round of demolition and displacement in EV itself -- before EV was "suddenly" ruled out? The feds don't control land use and there are lots of federal facilities next to more dangerous things. That also doesn't bode well ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Had a friend who was at a mayor James talk on the stadiums today. I asked them to ask or listen for oak street specifically and anything else they didn't they they had heard before. Similar to a post above he said populous is optimistic of keeping oak from being totally vacated. Excited to hear tha...

I haven’t seen the polling data myself but have been told they feel very positive they’ll get a winning (yes) vote right now.

Re: Three Light
I’m considering the Lights as possible options to split rent with a buddy when I move to KC in May. My impression of Three Light is it’s definitely a standout from the exterior, but I’m not sure the interiors are significantly superior to Two Light. The amenities look downright ritzy, with communit...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
See, that's not so hard. Much better. Where does the Crossroads neighborhood association agreement get finalized? Isn't that where the Royals committed to reimbursing displaced businesses? This was my point. Have just a least bit of patience. I simply asked where the documentation was and you came ...

They announce they finalized the CBA but don't release a document. JFC. These guys are not making it easy on themselves. People have unreasonably high expectations. Maybe they’ve agreed to terms but each sides lawyers are converting it into a legally binding agreement? Maybe they’ve agreed to the t...

Exactly. But like only if the bank agreed to being robbed because in the long run it’s best for its shareholders and will lead to more profits.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 3:01 pm The CBA is like a person robbing a bank of gold and then giving a bar to the security guard on the way out to look the other way.

Re: Sad...
Austin has hit a major snag and have actually started to see home values decline and rent deals are abundant as they struggle to fill up apartments they built at a frantic pace. You say this like it is a bad thing…we should be shooting for this I don’t really have an opinion on good or bad. I can s...

Re: Sad...
There are ten more high rise buildings planned over the next several years but sadly, that pace only gets pushed faster with some kind of help from outside sources. A major employer would be big or snatching up some of the stuff that went to Kansas years ago. Obviously getting people back in office ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
With a big ask from the city for funding KC residents in Jax co will be getting hit twice. I mean not really right? First off the tax being voted on isn’t exclusive to Jackson county residents. It’s a sales tax on anything bought in JaCo by anyone. The city will probably issue municipal bonds that ...
