Re: Bike Lanes
NKC City Council is having special public meeting on Armour tomorrow evening (October 15) at 6 pm. I'd encourage anyone in the region who supports bike infra to attend, and reach out to BikeWalkKC who is doing some organizing for it.

Re: A Career in Development
I'd go through all the developers listed for projects here: http://nextkansas.city/development-database Find their website, email or an employee on LinkedIn. Reach out for a coffee. Offer some free work or include some thoughts on their development(s). Industry knows a lot about itself, so talking w...

Correct, developer's request.
Shields: "Development team is working the reduce the City's obligation / risk in the project" (in a few less words).

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
I’d love for the city to pull development rights from the current East village developer and give it to a Royals controlled entity. City has full control of one block, parcels in a few others – not sure that's gonna be an effective strategy. I don’t understand. We have a developer for East Villafe ...

This "club" is one of couple places modern DJ culture is actually happening in KC now – something completely missing to this point. Sorry they're not buying much food at 10:30p, but it's a good look for our scene.

Why are they building a mini-Leawood a mile from downtown? What a waste.

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ
HQ2 choices were about availability of talent, plain and simple. There's an equation for attracting that talent that transit fits into, though. Relevant: http://siliconprairienews.com/2018/11/guest-post-your-city-never-stood-a-chance-of-hq2/ (Calling Crystal City the 'D.C. suburbs' is a bit of a str...

Re: Wichita's Downtown development
Was in Wichita for the first time a couple weeks back, some big things happening. Good to see. - Union Station is undergoing a complete renovation. - Next door, Cargill is wrapping a large office building. - Few noticably newer apartment developments (including one that's a half conversion of a park...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
It's unnerving since there are so many good bike lanes all over that city as well. There are a few, but the bike lane network really isn't that strong – and they rarely will get you to near the front door where you're trying to go. Living in DC, people do use the sidewalk a good bit – I've never re...

Looks like the satellite update is from a Saturday morning about ~10am. Swaths of empty parking in Crossroads, while River Market surface parking is near capacity.
