Re: Is the Streetcar Extension bringing new development as promised?

nowhere very close. Target at Ward Parkway Center? Otherwise it's to the burbs for you or join Costco. No real options from River Market to the Plaza really. CVS, Walgreens for basic office needs. Otherwise you will just shop online, which it seems all Retailers want you to do anyway.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Looking to seeing final design renderings. Really need to have crown scoreboard & fountains in the OF some sort. There are very few architecturally distinct features in MLB stadiums. The Royals are lucky to have 2 iconic ones that immediately say The K & KC. You wouldn’t remove the ivy at Wr...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?

Kansas City will not achieve anything meaningful in social housing as long as the city struggles financially. The only way to change that situation is to bring industry, business and wealth back into the city but that is less likely to happen if the tools available to the city to accomplish that ar...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My hope is they build it from the Star Printing Press East for the most part and leave the businesses fronting Grand alone. I would rather see those businesses really get a chance to grow and or reinvent themselves to venues more in tune with the public that will be down there 82 games from April-SEPT

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

well the wait is over and local media is reporting the Crossroads site will be the new location for the stadium. Glad they have made their decision finally and will be able to provide some definitive information, renderings, etc. This spot is not my favorite, as I feel it will detract from what the...

overall nice design. Will fit in well with the area. But really excited more vacant and or sitting land/property is being developed in the Crossroads to keep the place growing and moving forward. Let's get the shovels in the ground and moving on bring more residents to the area.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it does help change the public image of ownership for sure. They have had a great offseason signing some decent free agents and locking up a great player to build around. BWJ will be promoted like Mahomes is now. Obviously Mahomes has had a lot more success but the Royals have their young pl...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Those white sox renderings are beautiful. Very nice, and interesting how they would move further North closer to the main "heart of downtown" in Chicago. I wonder how the old school "south siders" would feel about this location. Looks great and would be a great location in relat...

Re: OFFICIAL - LuxLiving 'The Wonderland' (formerly Faultless Linen)

I would assume as well. Shame LuxLiving got hit with the issues and and even bigger shame they were the developer behind so many projects active & in the pipeline for KC. Hopefully new developers will be able to be found to finish the work started and go after the proposed development.

just waiting for a decision so we can all move forward and see the real plan. Speculating and hand wringing on the "what if's" has been exhausting. Good debate & dialogue but would much rather invest thoughtful analysis on the real project

Re: Is the Streetcar Extension bringing new development as promised?

Higher interest rates, making financing tougher. Inflation running up costs for everything, labor, materials, etc. Kansas City overall shifting from a very pro-development/developer friendly administration to one that is much more interested in pandering to a special interest group (KC Tenants) that...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I guess that is an option as well. Honestly I don't want the stadium to front Grand. But it doesn't seem to matter what anyone thinks anyway.

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

I love it. I mean I can't say anything bad about it or I hate KC. This will be great for Downtown KC to have another major limited access freeway bypass! Now commuters no longer have to even tap their brakes to fly past downtown. Just like all the other routes! And the bridge itself is amazing. No ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It's weird that if the Royals are planning on using the star site then 1)why does the Star site owners keep releasing the most awful 3D renders that look like they were made by a high schooler in Google Sketchup 15 years ago. and 2) why is the church is moving forward with a building addition if it...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

shame nothing else ever came back to life. Figure it's been at minimum 13 yrs since 2010 and the 2088 recessions was in the rearview. My guess the land banking was really counting on Royals coming downtown. Now that appears to be gone so they will have to go back to the drawing board. Great potentia...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

I agree we need more people and I don't know how to get there without more emphasis on employers, daycare, etc. When I speak to young couples, they say they don't mind KCPS. Today, it's the crime and lack of convenience, having to scramble to get what they need. My biggest beef with the transit str...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

Honestly outside of mega cities like Chicago, NYC, etc. that have metro populations over 4 million you can go to downtown or areas of downtown where it may appear to be "dead". You point is still valid and KC is mostly quiet around downtown unless there is an event of some kind. You can us...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Then Frank needs to come to the table looking to make a deal not be obstructionist and vindictive. I'm all for ensuring the tax payers have a good deal, and in principle have nothing wrong with seeking assurances of long term leases to stay in KC & Jackson county. Just seems to me that all of th...
