it would be great if after three light someone posted a pre-power and light district photo and what it is today. kc still has a lot of work to do but dang it's come a long way.

I'm not sure if the star got this right. According to the Lenscrafters website, they are coming soon to 4750 Broadway Street, Spc S-219. Whereas Plaza 211 is on 227 Nichols Rd. Granted Lens Crafters is still coming to the plaza but I think it's going in a less prominent spot.

Does anyone know what the article in today’s star cityscape said? It mentioned something about a national retailer interested in the old halls / Nike spot .

fyi; article in the kansascity star today about the costs of this project going up. Don't have subscription access to the star so not sure if it had any updates or details that would shed light on what might happen with this project.

The Tiffany site has been updated to state an early March reopening when you do a search for Kansas City. Good to see that it's coming back.

I agree empires228 i think the people in south johnson county don't feel compelled to drive to the plaza anymore and they can get a majority of the items online. Either way, it's just depressing to see what's happened to the plaza. I really hope that they turn it around.

Tiffany's is now closing on the plaza. Not really sure what Taubmann is going to do with all these empty storefronts. Pretty sad to see what's happening down there.

when was the planned start date for this construction again?

Talk about disappointing. I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this project. I guess back to the drawing board for them.

i didn't read the article but my guess is construction will start next year. on their website they've changed the date to a fall 2022 opening.

I guess this is good news for oak park mall, it buys them another year to figure out what to do with that big space.

the kansas city star just posted an article stating that Nordstrom has postponed the opening for their new store on the plaza past next year due to covid.
