Re: Cordish to offer grants to local retailers

I also took it mean the available space, not individual sites.  I'd bet that they are looking at some samller local retalers.  Anyone thinking of a smaller local retailer that might be a good fit for the district? I was thinking maybe Better Cheddar would be pretty cool down there.

Cordish to offer grants to local retailers

From the Business Journal's print edition" Cordish has announced plans for a grant program to help local unique retailers that want to open in the P&L district. The grants will pay for up to 25% of the cost of finishing the spaces, the lease terms will be the same for everyone.  They are ca...

Re: Crossroads Coffee House

The coffee girls staff should have intervened and stopped the patron's outburst.  I certainly would not have apologized to her!! They would have gone down more than one notch, had it been me.

Re: Nelson-Atkins Expansion (YES..white glass is the end result)

I didn't think so, I was trying to figure out how Funk as mayor would affect building design.  There certainly does not need to be  a drop in the number of cool buildings going up.  A good architect can design something pleasing and attractive, even cutting edge on a budget.  Thats why architects ge...

Re: OFFICIAL: Troost BRT

Would it  be at all feasible to extend it to the Bannister mall area for, not only the wizards stadium and a park and ride, but to the big office complex south of bannister. Thats where a lot of jobs are going. Isn't a local company moving a lot of workers down south?

Re: OFFICIAL: Troost BRT

If the Wizards stadium goes to Bannister, then having the BRT line end there, with a park and ride/stadium stop, then it might encourage more folks to attend the games.  Also, people might attend the game and then ride the BRT into the city core to do something at the P&L district.

I didn't realize the city was involved in the funding for the Bloch builidng.  What exactly was the city's involvement? I can't seem to remember.

Re: Starchitect Most Wanted In KC Next

You know, it might be kind of cool to have a local group of architects from some of the local firms like El Dorado, Helix, 360 form a design team to do the GSA building.  The DADT brought together the best of local sports design and we got the best arena around. Why not expand on that kind of collab...

Re: Nelson-Atkins Expansion (YES..white glass is the end result)

this building is generating so much positive press for the city and the museum. Wow.  Kansas City has really been fortuate to have the number of new, well designed, beautiful builidngs coming on line since 2000.  I'm glad that we've stepped away from the bland and boring for a bit. Lets hope the tre...

I think the main street side will have a higher and more secure wall than what is there now.  I'm sure there won't be much pedestrian access from that side if any.

Re: New Tourist Wayfinders

I like the signs, but not a fan of the poles they are put on. I'd love to see something a little nicer. Not a huge expense, but something a little better than the standard metal pole that most street signs are put on.

Re: OFFICIAL - Federal Reserve HQ construction

I think the security requirements for a FRB is a bit stricter than a  standard GSA building, for one.  A terrorist hit on a FRB would be very traumatic, and the economy would take a major hit. Not that any attack wouldn't be bad, but the symbolism of an attack on one of the FRB's would be dramatic. ...

Re: RED development to offer destination dining venues

My partner and I took our neice and nephew to T-Rex. The food was OK, but they really soak you for additional crap, and its hard for uncles to say no to the kids. We ended up spending $200.00 for an afternoon of fun. WAY overpriced, but I have to admit, the kids (ages 6 and 8) absolutely loved it!! ...

Re: Opening Event of Sprint Center

I seem to remember something about a month long series of events to celebrate the Sprint Center and the P&L district.

Whatever it ends of being, it won't be good enough for the detractors. Can we make a list ahead of time and see who's list most correctly lists the naysayers???
