Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

I knew Mr Durwood, and he would not let this happen if he were alive. I cannot believe AMC will bolt, but I cannot believe KC won't do anything to prevent it. Gotta be something that can be done Did you actually read any of the news coverage?  KCMO is trying to keep the company.  The problem is tha...

Re: 2010 Census - KC metro at 2.1m population

I still say the KC MSA should lose half of its counties and add Douglas  That is way too much land area for a single MSA and it's misleading because most of it is extremely rural. This is a problem with the entire way MSA's are defined, not just in KC.  All it takes is an edge city or exurban emplo...

Re: manhattan, ks.

I've never been to Manhattan and don't have a dog in this hunt, but the only good things I hear about the place are from people who have a connection to it from going to college or growing up there. That's not to say it's a bad town, just that objective visitors don't seem too impressed with it. The...

Could be a way to get out from under the tax lien.  Give up the KS business and open a "new" business in MO.

Re: Homicides 2011

County car crash rates are pretty meaningless without some context like crashes per 1000 people or crashes per total miles driven in each county.  You need a way to make the numbers relative to something like population or the amount of driving that occurs in the county. It's also helpful to look at...

The lookout was probably a pimp and the people doing the deed were probably the ho and the john.

As shocked as you are about what you saw, I'm more shocked that you apparently didn't call the police.

I do think it looks good, but the 748px fixed width is annoying.  Making hyperlinks indistinguishable from non-linked text is a big usability problem.  I'll switch back to the default them if the latter doesn't change.

has anyone noticed the "bike lane" on armour from troost to broadway?  it is a joke. Actually they are quite serious.  They're called Sharrows or Shared Lane Markings.  It's a way to designate a bike route and delineate shared space with cars and bikes when there isn't from a full bike la...

It's still a bad comparison with such a vast difference in density and geographic area.  How about like comparisons such as Plaza vs Corporate Woods or Crown Center vs. Sprint campus?

Huh.  There has been a state-wide voice for historic tax credits for years, but they have never been able to get any significant participation from the KC area.
