Re: We need a new airport!!!
I wonder if we will start seeing an uptick in flights before the New Terminal starts, or if we will have to wait for 4 years before we see any. I wouldn't expect SW adding additional flights until the new terminal opens - they're effectively maxed out with their current gate allocation. Alaska, Uni...

Re: We need a new airport!!!
It’s up big in the Northland. Given Freedom Inc’s endorsement, I’m feeling much better about the vote now.

If this is like every other election, we'll have a good idea of how the Northland voted around 8, and south of the river by 9-9:30.

Re: We need a new airport!!!
In a mistake I probably won't make again any time soon, I listened to Dan Coffey and Jolie Justus talk about Tuesday's vote on KMBZ. Dan claimed that CFRG's "polling" had the Yes vote at about 55%, but it had "dropped about 3% in the past few days". Given that he painted his own ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!
Well, CFRG did raise some money. My expectation is that they will do a huge mailer last weekend before the vote so it doesn’t give newKCI proponents a chance to respond. Kinda like you see happen during some elections for judges. I do think voters are coming around once they get the information. It...

A snipped from the Pitch article linked above: In this particular case, the trouble appears to be with Blind Tiger's landlord. The tavern's Facebook post includes this explanation: Blind Tiger has been dealing with an unstable landlord who ambushed and shot at the owner. We feel that it is in our be...

Re: Bike Lanes
The same goes for east on 12th; it's effectively down to one lane between Main and Walnut due to a) the never-ending facade work at Andrews McMeel Universal and b) the likelihood of someone illegally parked in front of the T-Mobile store is just short of 100%.

Yeah, it was mentioned on Twitter and in the press release that arrivals and departures would be segregated.
Given that these were preliminary renderings, I'm not terribly surprised they glossed over exactly how ubiquitous our device charging options will be when it's built.

Re: Is the term midwest to broad?
FiveThirtyEight had an article a few years back about how nebulous "the Midwest" is as a regional definition.
Also unsurprisingly, few people are willing to place Missouri as a whole either as a Midwestern or a Southern state.

Filed January 2017, with the trial currently scheduled for June 2018. Oof. At least since there's been a lawsuit filed, we can stop tiptoeing around Sherry DeJanes' illegal encroachment on the Trolley Track Trail and blatant conflict of interest in streetcar expansion (at least in the hypothetical s...

The whole event takes about 3 hours. For areas around KC, the partial eclipse starts around 11:40, totality is a little after 1, and it’s over around 2:35.
