Re: Boring Company tech to help untangle highway mess

Big fan of these Keystone sessions. Next week's may be of interest to some on here. A discussion of transit and connecting communities in the KC Metro in the 21st century from someone that used to work at The Boring Company and now works as VP of Tunneling at Southland Holdings in Austin, TX. Also f...

Re: KC gets decent share of touring shows

Doesn't appear venues and capacity are the problem as KC used to draw at least twice as many shows/events at times. It seems there are fewer local promoters. Fewer local festivals too. Spoke to one of my friends in the industry today and this is right on. Basically, the major market festivals in Ka...

Re: Smokey River Entertainment District

It seems like a dispensary on site would make a killing during this festival and during weekends throughout the year. Where's the nearest one in relation to this location? There's a pretty popular edible maker Good Day Farms that is less than 5 miles away I would be surprised if there isn't anythin...

Looking less & less like project ready to go. My guess is they may pull plug. Time marches on… We have to take the emotions out of some of these decisions. Does a development meet x,y and z requirements and standards? Yes. -Proceed. Our politicians are obviously hindered from making correct dec...

North KC site is the old AMF Bowling Alley and is one of the last 4 or 5 sites the Royals are considering.

I think this one of the 62 parcels recently sold in NKC. Over 150 acres

Re: KC gets decent share of touring shows

One problem I perceive is the lack of a modern 2000-3000 capacity venue. Uptown and Midland are old theaters with pretty terrible acoustic quality for modern music. Last time I was at the Uptown it was egregiously oversold and easily 110 degrees on the floor. People physically ill and fanning thems...

Re: KC gets decent share of touring shows

On top of the Buzz disappearing, the stranglehold that AEG (aka AXS) has on T-Mobile Center, KC Live!, Midland and The Truman really screws us with LiveNation/TicketMaster shows. Basically, we're shut out of any show above a certain size unless they go to Grinders, Starlight or Uptown and two of th...
