Re: REV Cafe & Gallery
News just hit that REV has been shut down. If true, and I have no reason to really doubt it, then it's a real bummer for a bunch of folks around here.

Re: TimeWarnerCable may pass satellite in HD channels
This is only half true. Old movies can definitely do HD. Film is an analog format, so you can't really directly compare it to digital HD, but the level of detail captured (and thus the theoretically possible resolution of the digital image) by 35mm film stock far surpasses digital 1080p. Old TV ...

Ron Butler is a first class individual, I second that!! Ron has done a lot of work for me. Not that I get in a lot of wrecks or anything.... I'm just old.taxi wrote: BUTLER C&D BODY SHOP

Re: Most "Luxurious" move Theater in Kansas City
The old and original Glenwood will always be the best. I loved that place. When Star Wars went into hyperspace for the first time... the whole place went crazy. (Had to be there) Right now, I like the main theater at the Palazzo in OP. It has very comfy seats and a balcony that my kids love to sit i...

Re: If someone wants to live in a vibrant big city, should he/she move to KC?
Look, i was born and raised in KC, and the place sucks. Ok, maybe a little harsh, but everytime I go back, I'm ready to leave. And so is everyone else on my flight. Funny, I was in LA for the last couple of weeks and I couldn't wait to get the hell out of the smog layered, littered, overcrowded,...

We will see how good of a coach Bill Self really is this year. KU fans have liked to point out winning a NC proves Self is a great coach, but the core of that team was made up of highly rated recruits that played together for three seasons. Self has almost always had a talent advantage that he wi...

Yeah, I've never understood why exactly a fuel efficient car must look like shit. I got a chance to drive a Smart Car last week. Very Fun! There was a lot more room in it then I thought there would be (I'm 6'1" and was comfy). It was kind of hyper as far as performance, and in a way it was dif...

Re: What do you think of the Commercial Development at the Lake of the Ozarks?
We owned a house at the Lake of the Ozarks up until a few years ago. We were at the 7 mile marker, "KC" side, outside of Laurie, MO and off of O road. I had better cel signal there than I did at my house in town. If we ate out at the lake we liked to hit the places you could get to by boat...

Re: JOCO To Decide if Stillwell Will Become Incorporated
But the other side of the coin, Max, is that you are helping to pay for Cyclops' snow removal and sheriff services. I'm not too sure about that. I pay plenty of taxes. But I'd be happy to send Max the bill. I'm just saying I understand why residents of these small towns don't want to incorporate. T...

Re: JOCO To Decide if Stillwell Will Become Incorporated
I'm not sure why small towns like this ever incorporate. Don't you get municipal services without having to pay the same rates? The county provides things like snow removal and police (actual sheriff) protection. As far as fire protection, it's still provided by who can get where first. We have gre...

i know you mentioned acreage, but is that it? i have trouble believing that the people who live in stilwell now aren't all recently arrived. is it reasonable for someone to expect rural living AND a big city paycheck? Sure there are people that live rural and work in the city, but there are quite a...

Re: Downtown rental crunch
Sure, but since TIF is such a dirty word, and pretty much all the developers know it, getting TIF help on a parking garage would be at the very least... difficult. I was just curious if he had a stance on the parking requirements in general. Affordable housing may include fending for yourself on the...

I heard on the radio news it will be the fifth largest city in JOCO (not really that much against Olathe, OPK, Lenexa, and Shawnee). It will be the 21st municipality in JOCO if approved. New compitetion for the metro. http://www.kansascity.com/news/breaking_news/story/645478.html As someone who liv...
