Re: OFFICIAL: Penn Valley Park (Ideas+redeveloment)
Looks worse! Like a nasty scab with a dirty bandage. Spray on green grass seed plastered onto rocky outcrops where it will never sprout. All the stumps left behind are now sprouting and growing vigourously. The lack of shade will mean that as summer progresses lots of weeds will take over. saw it a...

Re: KCMO to get Google Fiber too...
Saw a couple Atlantic trucks around noon today at 43rd/Main in front of the health food store. Saw several guys stringing the fiber cable through the sewer access. saw them again today (along main) working their way north up past westport rd to 39th street...stringing through the sewers or so it se...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
her argument is absurd. I don't want higher property value...not higher property taxes (which im sure she is against as well), but higher property value because her taxes will go up. Well shit lady, you're just anti-everything. get out of downtown.

Columbus Park 3rd Friday Art
Couldn't find an existing thread on this. I'm sure most people are aware Columbus Park does a third friday art show, but I wanted to give a bump to this coming one. http://columbusparkart.com/ from the website: Join us at the intersection of Gillis Street and E. Missouri Avenue, where multiple venue...

Re: OFFICIAL: Penn Valley Park (Ideas+redeveloment)
Looks worse! Like a nasty scab with a dirty bandage. Have some vision! :D Do you remember how overgrown and uninviting it looked before? It feels much more welcoming and open now...as opposed to seedy and unkept-before. The green spray does look bad, but that will pass. They were planting small tre...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies
You guys are nuts. Kansas isn't "winning" anything. They're not creating any jobs for Kansans. The same people, whether they live in Kansas or Missouri, who had these jobs when AMC or whoever had their offices in KC still have them after they move across the state line. Employees' commute...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies
Propagating the fallacy that there is a "winner" lends legitimacy to the whole fiasco. Please stop. Not really. Saying that Missouri wouldn't call a truce if they were the ones draining the jobs from Kansas (instead of calling it "winning") doesn't make the statement any more or...

the whole point is that no one is "winning". it is a net loss to the area.

I am loving the eastern side of PVP along main. It looks sooo much better. They were planting trees and landscaping today. It is a much nicer entry way to DT from midtown.

Re: KC Bike share
I looked at their website today and it said "Coming in June 2012", but I could have sworn I saw someone riding one of their bikes through rivermarket this morning. Has anyone seen any of their stations set up? I couldn't find one in rivermarket. Maybe they are just doing some testing? or t...

But TIF bonds are not GO bonds unless the city specifically gives that authority. Regular TIF bonds would be similiar revenue bonds. i miss spoke...i didn't mean the GO bonds issued would pay for the TIF bonds, just that the source of what is paying of f the TIF bonds is the same as that of GO bond...
