Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
There's a discussion tomorrow morning at the Plaza Library at 10 AM hosted by the KC Regional Housing Alliance regarding the recently passed SOI restrictions and the effort at the state legislature to overturn it. I'm sure KCT policies as a whole will be heavily discussed. Lots of noteworthy speaker...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Does anyone else find it a bit hypocritical that KC Tenants has millions of dollars in it's PAC's coffers, yet they refuse to spend any money on actually building or otherwise funding housing for their membership and audience?

Just curious and maybe you've already answered this but if not... How do you know they used a 40/60 mix? Good question. 1. It's listed in the "certification letter" the HOA sent to the city as the fluid used. 2. The manufacturer, distributor, KCFD, and building staff have all independentl...

Her hypocrisy is well noted, and shamelessly flamboyant as ever. I was extremely disappointed to find that her comments are disabled on her personal page even though each of her post is public. She obviously wants communication to be a one-way Street, to be able to heckle, but not be heckled. Talk a...

Re: Plaza Residential Development
The main issue in this area is not street parking, but its that 45th Street should not have on-street parking as it's too narrow and backs up. It's typical NIMBYism to try and prevent others from living in the same great area. This lot is surrounded on 3 sides by medium-dense multi-family housing c...

He's emceeing the men's and women's big 12 tourneys. Which the Big 12 now regrets after being informed of his social media activism. His social media is the epitome of moronic. One post is about him taking money to emcee at a tax subsidized arena for a college conference who's members rely on rich ...

Wasn’t Larks the company that was going to take the TopGolf space in Wall Street Tower? Yes. However, that proposal was blown out of proportion and was nowhere near ever happening. It's 100% dead now. Larks is a vaporware entertainment concept. They have no actual, physical locations and no sign of...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Because KCT thinks the market "won't work for everyone", they specifically attack that market and try and make it work worse for everyone. I guess what you are not getting is that their organization is actively trying to limit the addition of new supply to the KCMO housing market, because...

This would be unfortunate as he's about the only person doing anything in City Hall these days. City Hall as a whole is extremely dysfunctional.. and without him I am sure it would only be worse.

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Yes, I would love if we could get KCT support for aspects of this reform program. But I think it is clear at this point that they have ideological reasons to want the private market for housing development to work worse, not better. Because they don't want a functioning private housing market at al...

Just had a couple of people stop by with Vote Yes Flyers. Asked me how I was going to vote. Said undecided. Asked why. Said closing Oak and underwhelming announcement from the Chiefs. Canvasser said "Oh really because I understand they are building a retractable roof to get the Super Bowl"...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
I see some ppl on social media calling for the plaza to be demolished to make way for a new Royals stadium. Really? Really!? People really don't appreciate what we have. The Plaza as a built-environment is nearly perfect. (ample parking that is all hidden away, beautiful landscaping, attractive bui...

Hartzel is out for sporting. Fired. Good. His frivolous complaints and spreading of lies over the Pennway Point Ferris Wheel proved to me that he wasn’t a serious person. Should’ve been kicked to the curb then. Best news I’ve heard today. He's also a key cog for KC Tenants and an awfully hypocritic...

Charges filed and a couple of arrests made (unfortunately only for 2 of the 4 shooters) relating to the Jan 17th shooting that injured 6 people at Crown Center. I really hope we can get this stuff under control. Already seeing more flight from the plaza, CC, and downtown now. Need to change the narr...

They are making the level 100 concourse full suites all the way around from what I know. Why? Who wants to spend top dollar on a suite behind everyone standing up in the place normally reserved for the Dippin Dot vendor? Put suites all in 200 level where you can be in your suite for entertainment a...

GRID made a good point in the Chiefs Stadium thread about how John Sherman will spend a lot more private money on the Royals Stadium and District than the $300 Million the Hunts will throw into the Arrowhead renovation. And the Hunts have far more money than the Shermans. And from what we've heard ...

KC Tenants has made very public statements against this development. They also have a very public policy for seeking social housing.. not affordable housing. Literal social housing. The anti sales tax vote people, and those who are so hellbent on anything even remotely related to being against this proposal, are some of the most obnoxious and vile people on social media these days.
