Re: Sky and Cordish $253M project

Subdivide for Target and a 7-11 and you will still have enough space for another small retailer or two.

Re: Ozark Building / AC Hotel by Marriott at 9th and Grand

It was being planned for storage a year ago. The guy who renovated the Nelle Peters building on Armour was involved. I recommended housing but he was concerned about parking.

Yeah, but that doesn't help the urban cores that desperately need re population, only makes the suburbs more attractive.

Re: Widening I-70

the 70 to the 55 is a popular route to Chicago and obviously the 70 West hits Denver but 4 lanes is more than the state will need. It's really NOT that much through traffic in the state of Missouri.

So maybe around 200' and 300'?

Re: Widening I-70

4 lanes seems a little excessive... Missouri doesn't handle alot of through traffic. You should go drive I-70 sometime from KC to STL and back, then come revisit this post. Do you know how many times I have made this trip? 4 lanes both ways would be extremely excessive, 3 lanes would suffice just f...

Re: Sky and Cordish $253M project

I thought the 500 units are split between two parcels. Not saying this means the buildings will be short or anything, but if each side of the street gets 250 each, then you could have two, 20-story buildings. Condensing all 500 into one building would be unheard of here (at least for right now). Th...

Re: Widening I-70

I like the idea of 3 lanes and spending other funds on replacing bridges or even something simple like adding lights and modernizing the 70 thru East Kansas City.

Sounds like a good goal to me. Getting the residential population to 50 and then 60k sounds like logical next steps as well.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I mean some people are delusional. I live and walk the crossroads every day and it's not rare for me to be the only person I see out walking at the time. I think some people confuse businesses doing well to that translating to foot traffic. It's still very much a car based atmosphere. Lol what? The...

Re: Main & Armour - Mac Properties

The ironic part of Hyde Park's complaints is these parcels are in a totally separate neighborhood. The car dependency is pretty shameful, shouldn't we assume that a number of people living in these buildings will consider cycling or public transit? Or do those who oppose not care that they are up'in...

Amazing! I remember living at Briarcliff when it was New Jack City and I always hoped for better use of those corners, especially when the SW corner got torn down. The first shot is especially impressive!

There are plans to possibly fund a feature length version of this film. Would be amazing to see the city on 35mm one day!
