This is why I like the idea of multipliers on property taxes in certain zoning types, like UR districts where the goal is new construction or renovations. The land and building value would remain the same, this would be a special assessment on the city property taxes. Pick a random parcel downtown....

Cordish deserves a lot of credit. After transforming A homeless area, just rite stamp CO. & little else after 6pm. Doubt to many companies were interested or would be sticking around and have this much of a vested interest as they do.

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel

Earthling- Absolutely agree with the thought of residential with the conv hotel. This would not only add the height so many of us would like to see but help with financing, risk. Maybe off subject a little but, if I was a investor, developer, I would strongly consider a spec office tower considering...

They're struggling to find residents, now giving away the first three months rent free. That's not a good sign... Sure is not. We can't get new jobs downtown soon enough. I feel like 5000 jobs would take care of residential in the pipe now. Damn Cerner. Anyways, these look great and would love some...

Garmin wants tax abatement for its HQ expansion in Olathe. Its kind of funny that they had a ground breaking ceremony for this last fall and then wait till February to say- oh yeah and we want you to pay for this. http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2017/01/26/garmin-olathe-incentives-reques...
