Re: Liberty Commons
Will the theater be staying there? I noticed B&B had acquired Dickinson, so wasn't sure if they would close the Liberty location in lieu of the location at Brighton and 152.

Another K-Mart Biting the Dust in the Northland
The Vivion/Antioch K-Mart has put out store closing signs on the building. After this one closes, we'll be left with just one K-Mart in the Northland, the one at 72nd and I-29. Doesn't bother me as I don't shop there, but amazing that when I moved to the Northland in 2000 there were five K-Marts up ...

Leawood not getting GF... http://www.kansascity.com/news/government-politics/article3477572.html Being Leawood, my guess is they had all kinds of aesthetic requirements that Google didn't want to bother with. They're not fulfilling the aesthetic requirement inside KC. The difference is KCMO and the...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
Does it normally take forever to get scheduled for fiber? I signed up in August and still haven't recieved a confirmation to schedule service. I signed up for free internet but then switched to the gigabit internet but after a week i just switched back to free thinking i would be able to schedule r...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
For those currently with TWC for Internet and in a GF area that hasn't rolled out yet, did you get calls from TWC in the last month or two? I did, they called me and wanted to schedule a time for a service guy to come out and give us a new cable modem. The rep said they were rolling out a 300Mbps se...

Re: Sprouts
We live about a mile as the crow flies from that Liberty location. I had never heard of them. Reading reviews on the Internet they seem to be mixed with a little more tilted towards the negative side. Due to location we will probably shop there a little, but I doubt we'll stop going to the Liberty H...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
Back in July and August they ran the fiber through the conduit installed earlier this year in our neighborhood. I thought for sure we'd have installations going through the winter, but got an email from the GF team stating that likely we wouldn't see anything until next summer. On a side note, Time ...

Re: Metro North Mall
I don't have a link handy, but there was some news about the redevelopment in the last couple months that they couldn't find a second anchor and without a second anchor (the first being Macy's) they couldn't proceed. I think they are still looking for a second anchor, but may also be looking at alte...

Yesterday they started running the actual fiber to the various connection boxes they installed a few months back in our neighborhood.

Re: We need a new airport!!!
Was just in Dallas last week and spent some time in the half circle terminals. I paid a bit more attention and they are very similar to KCI's terminals. I would say it appeared to me that the Dallas terminals are about 130% to 150% wider than KCI's. Their half circles are bifurcated about 25% unsecu...

Re: Statewide transportation sales tax coming in 2014
As has been said by a few posters above, the sales tax plan was just bad. I'm not against spending money for MODoT, but I just couldn't get behind the funding coming from sales tax. If they had a ballot issue that asked the same question, but raising the funds via toll roads and increased state fuel...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
We pre-signed up. GF conduit installers have been in our neighborhood going back to late March. GF reps came to one of our HOA board meetings and indicated actual fiber installations would likely be close to the end of the year. I was hoping for September, but likely much later than that. I currentl...

Re: We need a new airport!!!
I agree on DFW, not a good comparison. The half circles at DFW are 100% behind security checkpoints which occur before you get into those half circles. The only way KCI would be comparable is if you built a new building in place of one of the circle parking garages, then built a tram and connectors ...

The K-Mart across the street from Antioch Center is still open. Right now the only two K-Marts open in the Northland is the Antioch Center one and the one over at 72nd and I-29.mgsports wrote:Kmart is closed.

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
So google started digging in my yard today. How long should it take for my service to be up and going? The guy on the phone said October but I can't imagine it would take that long to flip a switch. How long did it take for you all after they began digging in your yards? If this is the first diggin...

Re: OFFICIAL: Antioch Center
One new Wal Mart will probably result in spreading blight on the Antioch & Vivion intersection. I imagine soon to be empty will be the K-Mart and Apple Market so instead of one blighted corner there will be two. Isn't the Apple Market already abandoned? That K-Mart is definitely high on the lis...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
My neighborhood is in KCMO next to Liberty. The GF conduit installers just came through my street over the weekend installing the conduit and junction boxes in the ground. Next up will be actual fiber being run through the conduit. Anyone know if they do that separately from running fiber from the b...

I was just by the mall late this morning and there is a new building going up, which I assume is the Wal-Mart neighborhood store mentioned in the link above.

Re: Plumber recommendation?
We've used both AB May and Morgan Miller. Didn't have any problems with either. Of the two, Morgan Miller is going to be a little cheaper. One thing I liked about Morgan Miller, at least in our case, they were always fast to respond, like same day if I called in the morning.
