Re: T.O in a Chiefs uniform for 2006 season?

It's Metallica and I have to agree.  I don't think Peterson has any actual interest in TO, but he does like people talking about the Chiefs...

Re: Residential Property Taxes

Ask yourself, would you sell your house for the amount they assess it? Probably not. It is not like Wyandotte, they are very aggressive taxers and in many cases a property isn't worth what they say it is so you can get an appraisal and dispute it. I'm glad I found this thread.  I bought a new house...

Re: Your favorite style of house

Good thread. I grew up in New England and am still very partial to shingled Cape Cods.  In KC I just moved out of a Brookside Bungalow into a Tudor.  I loved my Bungalow for its style and feel but needed more room for the growing family.  The Tudor layout and size is perfect.  I’m not a big fa...

Re: Does KC "Have It", Take 2

I pared the list down to just the American cities – only 19 of them.  I think it is impressive that KC made the list even if it is one point for “Minor" Centre for Legal Services.  Although this only accounts for financial criteria we all know that money makes the world go ‘round.  But...

Re: The Crestwood Condos (Treadway Hall)

Judging from my father-in-law I'd guess more like 63.  He's considered getting a condo in there for the reasons Chriz mentions - empty nester living in the area wanting a maintenance free and smaller space without leaving the area.  There are lots of close-to-retirement age people in the Brookside a...

Re: Starker's Reserve.....

We had our rehearsal dinner there about 6 years ago.  Freinds got married last summer and had their rehearsal dinner there last summer.  Both times were excellent.  I would highly recommend it for your function.

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Hello PH residents, I have to say you sparked my interest in the neighborhood.  My wife and I took our 2 year old on a car and walking tour of the hood this evening (before the storm) and have mixed feelings.  There were houses, parts of blocks, and whole blocks that we loved and others that we ques...

Re: University Academy set to open

I have to agree that schools are probably #1 on any families list when looking at where to live.  I work for a large/multi-location company that is in the process of closing a small branch office in Indianapolis.  Many of those folks were offered relocation packages to work here.  A married coupl...

Re: Brookside: Walkability, Wornall and Traffic Engineering

People wanting to go from Brookside Blvd. to south on Wornall have a hard time because they have to go into the far right hand lane and then turn left in the matter of one block. And it's impossible when then turning lane is backed up past east of Brookside which happens when Meyer is busy during r...

Re: Brookside: Walkability, Wornall and Traffic Engineering

Was the break in the Trolley Track discussed at all?  The place where the track crosses Meyer is the dangerous spot.  Pedestrians walking, jogging, and biking thru parking lots and crossing Meyer with no crosswalk is scary for the peds and drivers.  I think that area should be better controlled i...
