Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008

Why would they do that? JLB is positive that the conference tournaments are more important than the regular season. it is. you win the tourney, you are in the big tourney. you win the regular season and tank the rest of your schedule, you could miss the big tourney. doubt that would ever happen, bu...

Re: TSC Renovations

I enjoy the fact that my prediction ended up being 100% correct, yet you're still arguing today (like in that thread) that the tix prices are fair.   Despite the evidence clearly showing that KC-ians disagree with you and Glass. you predicted that they would "level the fan base" with the ...

Re: TSC Renovations

Boy, did I call that or what?    But I was promised that the renovations would create more attendance!   The 10% price hikes be damned. what exactly have you called exactly? i mean, shit, there are almost 7 months between now and end of season. what have you called? royals season tickets have been ...

Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008

It's 100% gravy this year. Doesn't change my desire to talk trash on the rest of the league - but it CERTAINLY makes losses much easier to take. Nothing wrong with that. That - and it's the Big XII tourney - great to win, and I love it when the Hawks do - but no one ever really takes too much notic...

Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008

Yep.  And I could see us as a #4 seed now.  Depends of course on what a lot of other teams do as well for the next few days. there could be other upsets today. tech loves playing spoiler. and ou and osu, rivalry is a rivalry. shit, if mu and ou got knocked out, that could pave a road for the purple!!

Re: TSC Renovations

I don’t have any real idea what parks we will go to this year, but I will be in Philly, NYC, Tampa, San Francisco, Chicago and Miami for sure this spring/summer, so will try to catch games in those towns. my wife's pharmaceutical fraternity is having their convention in tampa in august, and as luck...

Re: TSC Renovations

Well, I kept calling them and moving them since I couldn't make up my mind.  They are right behind the press box now.  But, yea, we will move around a lot this year.  We might hit 30-35 games this year, plus 2-4 games in other cities, which is typical. i think i will hit 3 at kauffman this year, pr...

Re: TSC Renovations

Agree 100%.  I lost my seats to the new press box.  The seats right behind home plate in the upper deck were the best in the stadium, I would not have traded them for most lower deck seats, even though, the lowers cost 2-3 times as much. MD, just don't go man.  Find something else to do.  You hate ...

Re: TSC Renovations

More than anything I look forward to being out their for some bigger, more involved crowds.  There are now multiple generations of KC fans who have probably never experienced what it is like to go to a game in a full stadium where everyone in the house is paying attention and cheering every pitch. ...

Re: TSC Renovations

Don't get me wrong - I like to sit low too - but being as close to the center is the number one priority for me - I just prefer to watch from behind the plate.  I would choose a high home plate seat over a low foul line seat every time.  yup. same here. last year in toronto, i had seats 2 rows in a...

Re: TSC Renovations

Its a revenue enhancement the stadium was clearly lacking.  These days almost every park in the nation has some gimicky seating area - why, because people eat that shit up and will pay for it.  The only thing remotely like that at pre-reno kaufman were the big group dugout suites.  I have no doubt ...

Re: TSC Renovations

You're missing my point - that is, the seats are basically unncessary .  You're saying they're slightly good, but I'm saying: factor the cost.   Is the benefit worth the $5-10M cost to build?  I'd say this project is basically breakeven.   (But better than Sluggerr's Lair obv) The Royals demanded t...

31,000 is pretty poor for any recent grad in a skilled profession.  In my industy, a recent grad with a masters degree makes practically double that.  What I suspect is that the average salary that is quoted is skewed by clerical, facilities, and other unskilled workers and the skilled workers they...
