Re: Jack Gage American Tavern

Had brunch on Sunday and was not impressed.  Had a turkey and ham open faced sandwich, not sure what it was called.  Had a cheesy/mustard sauce on it that was not good.  G/F had a country fried chicken sandwich that was decent but very plain.  Gravy didn't have much flavor at all.

Re: Lills on 17th

Went to Lills last night and really liked the place.  Had a prime rib tapas that was a special and not on their usual menu.  Also had the bacon wrapped dates, crab cakes and chocolate cake.  The prime rib and the bacon wrapped dates were spectacular.  The crab cakes and cake were just ok.  Overall i...

Re: What are some little-known, awesome views of KC?

My roof is always good, trees are getting too tall though, it isn't what it used to be.  One of the views that I always liked because it seemed out of place is the view from 210 Hwy.  You are in the middle of fields and there it is in front of you.  To me it looks closer than it really is from there.

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Anyone know What is going on at these locations?: 1. Behind the 7 eleven and next to the Venus Body shop? All I can tell right now is that the land has been plotted and being excavated for something. 2. Why was the little building on independence and Olive on the south side of the street demolished...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Someone told me once that there was a fire on the third floor of 423 Olive St which would make sense after looking at the pictures from the 40's.  There aren't many houses left to do on the 400-500 block of Olive.  On a sad note, I will be putting my house on the market within the next few weeks.  I...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

That was a good time.  It was great to meet you Alpha and Brian.  Brian, sorry I didn't get much of a chance to talk to you, not many people went through the house on Elma but they all seemed to come at once.  I would be interested to hear your opinion on it.  I did have a lot of people through 210 ...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow.  I will have my listings at 210 Olive St and 2217 Elma St open tomorrow.  I know of at least six open houses in addition to the four on the tour.  210 Olive St is in good condition but the floorplan was modified to make it into a duplex.  The good news i...

Re: Grinders

I was there on Sunday before the concert and I was glad we got there early.  Food took a little over an hour.  They were out of BBQ chicken pizza and they got two of eight orders wrong.  The pizza was good but one person ordered a burger that was aweful.  The service was actually better than I usual...

Saw MGMT at Bonnaroo and they were much better than I expected.  I am definitely going to the show, it is on my birthday.  Remember to buy me a drink.

Where is the part about the shady appraiser overvaluing the property?  That is not an insignificant part of the problem.

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?

I lived in S hyde park for around 5 years before I moved to Pendleton Heights in '04.  41st and Charlotte and then 43rd st between Charlotte and Holmes.  It does seem like this neighborhood has been on the verge for a long time but many of the individual locations that have been holding the neighbor...
