I'd bet 2023

More time for people to get used to the idea, studies to be done & understanding of the new CBA landscape. Also having new potential stars playing for the team will hopefully help

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I've lived in Bethesda, it's great.

KC has some great suburbs too which contribute to a successful metropolitan area. It isn't a zero sum game between JoCo and KCMO.

Late night finds on the web. These all appear to be concepts and never were actual proposals. The first two don't have context but were definitely connected. 18th and Walnut Southeast (El Dorado - 2020) https://eldo.us/898-du-acre 898 DU/Acre is a proposal for a radical new model of affordable hous...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

From what (little) has been said, it seems the Hunts want to stay at Arrowhead but develop more of an experience immediately around the stadium. Something like the Texas Live area around the Rangers/Cowboys stadiums. I'd be ok with a stadium out at Legends. A football stadium makes sense out there i...

C2FO just closed a $140 million dollar funding round. Seeing as it is led by a Kemper, who historically seem to have been downtown champions, it's too bad their office is in Leawood. Candidate for 1400? https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2022/01/31/c2fo-fund-raising-early-payment-platform.h...

Sec Pete is in town to talk about the Infastructure bill. Would love that to mean there would be an announcement of something related to the South Loop Cap. But looks like he'll be in KCK. Press conference at 11:20 a.m. at Rock Island Bridge to announce the "expansion of a program, funded by th...

Re: Katz on Main

It’s a shame. This looks like an incredible project that has a chance of being a landmark along the streetcar line.

The article mentioned the petition had just over 200 signatures. Is that a lot for things like this? It doesn’t sound like a ton, but I’m new to local politics.

Re: Downtown office vacancy

Just my observation, but the highest correlation I see for growing a city is you have street retail/restaurants, walkability and connectivity . You can have a town with no corporate presence at all, but if you have those three things people will come flocking. I see it all the time when I look at s...

Ok LOL….I never said “build the prairie fire museum” haha. You know that little strip outside the AMC Prairie Fire with all those shops, restaurants and of course the theatre? It’s extremely walkable and attractive. And that’s what I think KC should build. I will give some credit to Leawood. It's s...

Panasonic Electric Vehicle Battery Plant (Mystery Kansas 'Mega Project')

From the BizJournal today: Kansas contains one of two finalist markets competing for a mystery company's $4 billion, 3 million-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility, which promises to deliver 4,000 permanent jobs averaging $50,000 in annual pay, plus 16,551 temporary construction jobs. Also with the decking creating more of a tunnel for 670 maybe some art of some kind to go along the walls of the enclosed portion?
