Re: Jackson County Regional Rail Plan
Amtrak is replacing their P42 locomotives and coach cars with the same ones that Missouri bought. The old units will be scrapped/sold. While old, the last time Amtrak upgraded their equipment many units were picked up by commuter railroads for dirt cheap. Could be an opportunity for KCATA to buy com...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Yep, no way I would vote for it after that mailing. Not sure why the Royals thought it would be smart to demonize at least half the population. Was that an official Royals mailing? Or was it the work of a different organization? Cornerstone 1791, an organization linked to Jeff Roe The mailing was n...

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village
There is a local real estate guy whose first job was working for the city while they developed and then started to implement the downtown renewal plan. He tells a story of writing a paper countering the proposed plan that quickly led to his demise in that position. Hope you get the chance to hear it.

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Saw No on stadium ad on TV sponsored by KC Tenants. I do not understand what advocating for No (or Yes) on the issue does for the interests of lower income renters. How is KC Tenants funded that they can afford to buy television ad space? I asked them and Jennifer Manley where they were getting the...

Re: Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in SF
I love how kc is too poor for parks. The city is too poor for parks and our chronically impoverished developers are too poor for parks. Honestly seems like a miracle we haven’t gone bankrupt like detroit yet That isn’t what I said. I said it is expensive to develop new things in the downtown area a...

Re: Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in SF
Is raising the cost of new development, which seems to rarely pencil out here as is, a good thing? I think not. This is also not a particularly efficient way to create quality park space especially in a place like KC that already has a lot of little low activation pocket parks. To some degree, KC al...

I noticed on flykc.com that it no longer says "coming soon" for the availability of economy spaces under the garage availability. Have they given up on trying to maintain a live count of available spots in the economy lot? Weird to lose it after having it for so many years. Vendor issue? ...

Re: Aladdin--boutique hotel by Holiday Inn
I can't believe how many empty buildings downtown end up having vagrants living in them. Don't the property owners know how many buildings are set on fire by vagrants? One would think they would hire security to check the building daily for break-ins. Can't they hire someone to live in the building...

https://www.transit.dot.gov/regulations-and-guidance/access/charter-bus-service/charter-bus-service-regulations-0 I’m confused as to how they were able to use them for the airshow then? I only rode on private busses when it was downtown. They could have exhausted every qualified respondent’s capaci...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
I get that the logistics are probably a lot easier this way, but it seems like a HUGE missed opportunity to not leverage some of the bus capacity of the weekday RideKC busses that are otherwise sitting dormant. Why aren’t we doing everything we can to create subconscious goodwill and familiarity wi...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
I completely disagree there. From a game play and experience situation, it's on par with several other major league cities. The locker rooms are spacious but of course would not be on a design or fancy level as the better pro arenas. A NBA owner could simply go to a sold out Big 12 game and see the...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
It was but here's the good thing. It's ready for either anytime with minimal changes. It does suck we've yet to land one. There’s a big difference between what’s needed to house a team and what would be needed to attract a team out of their current digs. T Mobile in its current state isn’t nice eno...
