Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
EDIT: Found this data base that the fan blog seems to pull from. Scroll through 2024 so far and youll see the only "break" T-Mobile Center has had from hosting concerts was for basketball season. https://www.concertarchives.org/venues/t-mobile-center-b0e7246f-df5e-4257-b605-b478dfd15cd5?pa...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
If it were only that easy. Kansas City isn’t an anchor market when it comes to touring acts. They route through and if a date they want isn’t available they’ve got other choices and will simply skip the market. Toss in needing to work around a pro team schedule and you’d 100% lose several concert d...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
$500m 15 years ago and it’s fairly bare bones on the interior compared to a MLB or NFL stadium. The Cathedral is less than the $1b the Royals have said they will spend on the Royals stadium and it's much, much larger, over twice the capacity. The current design (what little we've seen from it) just...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
If they had a 50-100% higher budget I’m certain they’d love to The bottom one cost around $500m and that is for a bigger football stadium. Others are similar. It doesn’t cost that much more to make something visually appealing, it just takes some care to make something that will last instead of jus...

I’m not really sure if this is a use case that should be in the main core of the cityTheUrbanRoo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 6:07 pm What good is this if it's up at the airport. Who cares if we even get it at that point.

Possible USOPC Training Center KCI
USOPC Gymnastics Training Center KCI Pitched near KCI. Article in the business journal isn’t showing for me anymore. TLDR is KC a candidate based on RFP responses. Site to include 200 room hotel, training centers, kitchens, school, small performance hall, etc.
Better fit for Berkley than KCI imho

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)
That's still going on? There were volleyball tournaments in town last time we were there back in Feb. Most people walking downtown and probably half the people going through KCI while we did were there for that. Seems like a huge event. Must be multiple events. There are. This week is collegiate cl...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)
Will the volleyball tournaments ever end? It's nice to see people traversing through the crossroads on foot. A nice departure from the general ghost town vibes Im normally experiencing. It does seem we have become somewhat of a youth/college sports tournament destination, wouldn't be my first pick,...

Re: OFFICIAL - Main Street Streetcar Extension
After looking at the plans in detail for the Main St Extension and the additional areas where the trams should be in dedicated right of way more often, I think they have done a pretty good job with this extension despite it not being center running. I still think they may have to ultimately figure ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
What is up with the Cards asking for 600 million? 600 million for relatively new stadium? I mean KC's new stadium will only cost 30% more! All in a market that consistently draws 35k a night? Meaning they have no reason to go crazy on renovations. They are dong this NOW? When KC is in the middle of...

If they are going to take it to the dump, I want to get some pieces.
