Re: Misc Crossroads News

I would be shocked if the lease extension deadline coincided with the end of the lease term. Landlords (for their own well-being) typically want an answer on extensions anywhere from 3 months to a year prior to the end of the term. I don't think I've ever encountered a "you have until the end o...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

What I don't understand is how lease renewal negotiations went right up until the point that Brioche was **suddenly** forced to be out of the premises by midnight. How were they so blindsided that their current situation was such a surprise?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

That's kind of what I figured. Assuming the proposal passes, how much does a 50% cap handicap us as compared to other cities?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Regarding the proposed cap on incentives, are there any other comparably-situated metros that have a 50% cap in place? Also, are there actually any data that support a move from 75% to 50%, or otherwise hint that the current cap is not sufficient?

Oh, and Hotel Karaoke looked pretty nice too. Definitely less sticky looking than Offkey but I'm sure that will change in pretty short order. Definitely looking forward to going there for way too many ill-fated, weekday, work happy hours.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal

Unrelated but adjacent to County Road, I tried out some food at Day 2 of staff training at the Guy Fieri place. The aggressively eclectic roadhouse vibe was a little bit weird but good lord those tacos were ridiculously good. The blood orange margarita was pretty solid too. The prices didn't seem to...

I think I read that their production kitchen is in the basement. They have the pigs skinned and halved off-site, though.

I've plugged it before and I'll plug it again, a restaurant/brewery in the vein of Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh, PA would be so damn awesome.

Re: Downtown Tanners closing?

It seems like the place is pretty decent before midnight, my wife has been there a couple times and has never had any issues. They will probably end up closing the club part down if these shootings keep happening The arcade portion was great and had fun. About 10-10:30 the place started changing th...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

The initial pay-off may have occurred long ago, but don't forget about any financing they may have had to take out over the years for improvements, renovations, repairs, etc. Probably not an enormous balance, but depending on the church leadership over the years, there's no telling how effectively t...

From what I've heard, they're still looking toward 1st Quarter 2019 to begin construction. But who knows if that ends up getting further delayed--everything else has.

I think that's been the plan, and they have permits up on Compass but who knows how deep into things they actually are. I think with their DBC/Atomic Cowboy concept, they're still probably unique enough to co-exist.

I'm still holding out hope for Denver Biscuit Co. to open in Westport. Hopefully a local/regional biscuity name entering the same neighborhood doesn't spook them.

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

Agreed, but I'm not sure that a riverfront extension prohibits extensions elsewhere, i.e. to areas which are already somewhat developed and needing incentive to get more dense. If there are entities that have the power and money to push this extension, more power to them.
