My opinion is strongly biased.
Personally I believe KC is great for living and horrible for visiting, unless you are from a rural area.

Re: Lighted arch to span Minnesota Avenue
^It is at approximately 4th and Minnesota right next to the EPA building. You probably won't see it if you are going eastbound on I-70. By the way I thought I would mention I walked by this thing again last Saturday, and apparently the picture I took of the thing was in an incomplete form. Now there...

Why did tickets to the cards/royals game cost so much more than regular tickets? That is a complete joke in my opinion.

I call myself a Kansas Citian, regardless of whether I live in KCMO or not.

Re: Where would you live? Not live?
Personally I like larger cities. Anything under about 250k I probably would not live in unless given an outrageously large sum of money and an excellent job. I was offered a job at the wal-mart corporate office in Bentonville, Arkansas and the money it was paying was not enough to motivate me to mov...

Re: Lighted arch to span Minnesota Avenue
That may be true, but the one in KCK seems like such a waste. Why not repair some of the busted sidewalks along 10th street between central and minnesota. They are crumbling and falling apart. Believe me, I walked them and it was terrible.

They are creating a citywide master plan right now. I got a letter in the mail about it a few days ago.

Re: Walking
Unfortunately the land on both ends of the bridge is KCMO (NKC doesn't start until just past the north end) and since it's technically a state highway only MODOT can do anything. I can't understand why it should be so expensive or take so long to put up a simple concrete barrier. In fact why ca...

Central would be a good southern border if there wasn't so much single family residential in between.

Re: Downtown KCK Master Plan Approved
I would say that Washington Blvd is good for the northern border, but Armstrong is not far enough south. Hell that doesn't even include City Hall.

Re: Downtown KCK Master Plan Approved
Well is that area large enough? Obviously that all isn't downtown, but those areas probably need some love too so its nice to hear that they will get a little. As for the multistory buildings, that would be nice, but considering the fact that they have suburban abominations in that area such as the ...

Re: Walking
^Thats cool. I'm glad more of us are getting out there on foot. Last Saturday I walked from KCK to KCMO for the fifth time. I have quite a few gripes about the conditions for pedestrians downtown. I walked all the way around the loop so that I could get a close up view of the Star printing press, a...

Next up: the world-record setting Deep Purple jam in WyCo (but he said Kansas City): http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/04/smoke.guitar.ap/index.html He professed disappointment that he missed this event, then brought out his guitar and proceeded to rip into "Smoke on the Water." I love him. O...

Re: Wyandotte Proposed Sports Resort
That brings the regional proposed arena total to FIVE (Olathe, OP, Indep, Belton, KCK) in the last year. Insane. How would this compete with the OP soccer fields? And what does this have to do with the news about the area along I-435 that would be opened to development? Is this that same area? That...

Re: Lighted arch to span Minnesota Avenue
Its not a bridge, its an arch that goes over the street and that is it. The only way to cross the street is at the crosswalk at 5th and minnesota.staubio wrote: I was hoping for something visible from downtown KCMO, but I'm guessing this thing is a glorified pedestrian bridge?
