Enterprise giving their employees the day off on Aug. 3rd!
So that they may picket the polling locations all over our city during the vote on the company dime. Unf*ckingbelievable. I implore everyone to take some time off of work on Tuesday to do the same if you can. We need to have a strong pressence at these voting locations as well. It's go time. Let's s...

What all has Kansas City screwed up?
The Sprint Campus at 119th in Overland Park was one of the worst mistakes in the last 10 years for Kansas City.
Imagine an influx of 25,000 employees a day in to downtown working in an urban campus of tall buildings.

P&L District: 14th & Baltimore site proposal
No question that it has to stay true to our heritage and be a unique Kansas City jazz club.
I'd love to see them bring the Orchid Room back, undoubtedly one of the greatest in our history. Played home to Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, basically all the greats at one time.

P&L District: anything missing?
I mentioned this on another thread, but I'd personally really like to see us try to attract a Virgin Mega Store. Right in line with the entertainment aspect of the district.
There are currently 15 locations in the United States, with the closest being Chicago and Denver.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal
I'd really like to see a Virgin Mega Center where they are currently allocating space for a book store.
If they could be lured, this location in the heart of a tourist district is where they gravitate towards. Would seem to be a perfect fit in my opinion.

The SprintCenter will bring the NHL back to Kansas City.
However, St. Louis also has about 700,000 more people in their population base to draw from. I'd love to have a third major league franchise call KC home, but I look at these cities that are supposedly struggling with attendance, Pittsburg - 11,877, Nashville - 13,157, and Carolina -12,086 and I hav...

According to this article it's a good possiblity if we can get the ball rolling. If Penguins take flight, will they land in KC? I can't quite make out what they're trying to represent at the top of the decks under the lights. I also don't und...

The foundation of the concept is intrisically flawed. That's the problem. The Royals could offer up 20 more options and it wouldn't change the ultimate problem, your dumping $190 Million into a 35 year old stadium in the wrong location. You can put some make-up on a prostitute, but she's still a pro...

For the record, I think both are idiotic and a bigger waste of money than the band aid we applied to Kemper a couple years back. Cincinnatti just built a stadium for around $200 million downtown. An Applebee's and a petting zoo in left field it's going make me to go to more games, consider Kauffman ...

I recently received these from an architectural illustrator, although I'm not sure which firm he was working in conjunction with.

Brad Schrock of Heinlein Schrock Sterns was on Keitzman's show discussing the potential of an expandable bowl arena, a concept that he has played a major role in developing for quite some time now.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction
I guess I don't see it as much of a war, because there's no possible way the City selects anyone over the local consortium. But for argument sake, the problem I have with Crawford is that not only is their work mediocre, they have relatively no experience in stadium design with all of 1 built arena ...

The design team for the new Arizona Cardinals football stadium is similar with Peter Eisenman leading the charge for the exteriors with HOK coordinating interior de...
