Re: 911 Linwood Redevelopment as Senior Housing
Here's my opinion on what needs to happen for that stretch on Linwood to be redeveloped: 1. 3200 Gillham Rd needs to be sold and redeveloped, along with the car wash across the street. Those two properties seem to be magnets and harbors for vagrants and other shady characters. 2. The building where ...

I heard Execustay - a corporate relocation/furnished rental business leased an entire floor of One Light.

I noticed today that fencing is up around the new construction site on Main St. Looks like work could be starting soon.

Re: wtf is happening to w. 39th?!
The record store at 39th & Wyoming, Vinyl Renaissance, has closed. They might've moved? Cold staff, too much space. The space issue seems to be addressed by the landlord- a glance indoors shows new sheetrock dividing off the garage-windowed side facing Wyoming. They expanded their OP location a...

Re: wtf is happening to w. 39th?!
I stand corrected - I've also heard raves about Bob Wasabi and looking forward to going. But I won't be back to Meatball District (awful service, small overcooked meatballs, limited menu, etc.). Just seems like for every Hi Dive there is a Meatball District or second-hand goods store; for every Bob...

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L
the old Berbiglia spot also getting new residential building (I hope it's similar to Centropolis at 5th/Grand, but with retail on street level floor). Is this something you have heard, or just something you are wishing for? Last I heard, the plan is for a parking lot for now, but eventually office ...

Re: Three Light
I would love to see Four Light as a market rate tower. I would like to see Four Light as condos. I think the Downtown condo market may have finally recovered enough by the time Four Light is done to see some demand for new inventory. Maybe a condo/boutique hotel combo with 40 plus stories, as long ...

That is an odd location for a hotel. I would have rather seen the proposed apartments built, but I will take this over nothing.

Re: 1640- BNIM HQ
I have heard that BNIM is looking at the building on the NW corner of 31st and Troost. I don't know where they will end up - and it is possible could wind up in the suburbs - but I think the people who jumped to the conclusion that they would go to JoCo when they didn't get the incentives from KC do...

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?
Its in Old Hyde Park, don't think there is a sub thread for Old Hyde Park. my understanding is the only thing that separates the two is that OHP is the part that is a registered historic neighborhood? Nope, they are two separate neighborhoods with separate neighborhood associations. Parts of the No...

Re: Middle of the Map fest
i've been told repeatedly that MOTM will focus less on midtown/westport this year. the film and conference bits were already downtown/crossroads anyway. Maybe we could infer from this that the new Record Bar location will be in the Crossroads. If they have a similar format to last year, maybe the W...

Good find, thanks for sharing. I liked the original tenant mix of "Bakery" "Bicycle" "Deli" and "Coffee Shop" better than Subway, Sports Clips, ?, and Starbucks - although I'm sure those are hypothetical. However, I would happily take a Subway there if it mean...

This developer is also rehabbing the apartment building around 30th and Harrison that was long vacant and used to have the weird plastic umbrellas in front of it. I think the work is almost done and it's looking pretty good. They have big plans for the building at 911 Linwood and it is supposed to o...

Re: Middle of the Map fest
Line up release will be March 1st as Ollie's Local.
They didn't have the "main stage" parking lot last year - it was moved to the lot across from Char Bar.
I'm surprised there haven't been any more rumblings about a new Record Bar location. Anyone hear anything?

Here is the project they are developing in Rochester, for an idea of what they could possibly build for the phase 2 on the surface lot: http://media.bizj.us/view/img/7557562/the-buckeye*750xx1565-885-222-26.png Looks pretty good. It is promising to see another new out-of-town developer come to KC.

Re: Downtown St. Louis looking to build MLS stadium
As much as STL wants an MLS team, I don't think public financing for a stadium would be palatable to most residents after getting burned by Kroenke and still owing money on the dome. I'm sure the city will come up with some incentives to give, but I think the team ownership would have to finance mos...
