Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
So are the Royals favored to go to the Crossroads or EV now I’ve been informed Crossroads. Final renderings were completed yesterday with a reported “modern but bad ass design”. I did not see these renderings, so I’m going off of someone who has. I expect to see them released soon. I also wouldn’t ...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
How could someone be disappointed and say this is a bummer. Kansas City is hosting 6 mini-Super Bowls and one of them is a quarterfinal.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Well it would make perfect sense since you could fuse it with the outdoor market right there (which is already an awesome place)

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
If the Royals go to EV, Is there any chance the Star Press building could become an urban indoor market subsidized by the city? Something like that could open up along side the opening of the stadium and 670 cap. There's an rfp out for the current steamboat Arabia site and that's one of the options...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
I would agree that most American downtowns are dead, but it's way more than just 4-5 that are generally pretty lively (by USA standards). Most midwest cities are dead, especially places like Omaha (outside old market), Tulsa, OKC, St Louis (but they do have lively parks), Memphis, outside Beale St ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
Honestly outside of mega cities like Chicago, NYC, etc. that have metro populations over 4 million you can go to downtown or areas of downtown where it may appear to be "dead". You point is still valid and KC is mostly quiet around downtown unless there is an event of some kind. You can u...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
His famously dramatized "I'm just being realistic!!" = "if you don't agree with me you're automatically wrong". The guy undersells literally *everything* having to do with KC. I even remember at this time two years ago he was saying Mahomes/Chiefs were probably overhyped and not ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
Grid visit the park during a warm Friday or Saturday night and tel me this area isn’t popular. He thinks literally everything in KC is either dead or blighted. I stopped engaging with him years ago. I love KC, but if you think it's a very active city, you don't get out much. I'm sorry if the truth ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
Unless the buildings in the remaining lots are 40 stories each, the amount of residents that will be added at this point don't justify the streetcar extension cost. That area needed to be built out at a much higher density. Looking at that site plan and how much room there is around the structured ...

We do all agree on that. I think once this site is secured we should really pressure the city hard on that one. There’s no downside.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The anti-Crossroads people are acting no different than suburban NIMBY's. Not my area! Go elsewhere!
Even though it's ultimately the *best* option for the city downtown.
