Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Per KCTV5 - Matheny is speaking to the media at 4:25 so it isn't the manager being fired.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

Maybe the reason they were able to get so many local restaurants to commit to the airport is because of the lack of national brand names.

I’m guessing Parisi And Messenger would find it more difficult if they were sharing a terminal with a Starbucks.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I mean if we tear down municipal and bartle and Marriott I think there is a chance. Some on this board would be all for that level of teardown. Those buildings are old and dirty. Assuming this comment from the Bartle thread is directed towards me (and it isn't sarcasm - I don't think it is), I thin...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

There's an item on this week's City Council meeting for the city to begin negotiations with a variety of development entities (Copakan, McCown Gordon, Brinshore, etc...) related to this development. The legislation specifically mentions they want this project to be completed by 2026. If it passes it...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

If the stadium ends up in East Village (in all its isolated glory), what can we do to make this area integrate with a downtown who's most active areas are 6 blocks (8-10 minute walk) to the west? There are some definite challenges - but I don't think its hopeless. However, I also don't think a stadi...

Not that it proves anything one way or the other, but BCBS recently bought the below-grade parking lot adjacent to their HQ next to Washington Square Park.

Here is the high points of where I find EV a better site (if jail doesn't work) No teardowns of buildings. viable buildings that are currently being used and/or renovated for use. Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Stadium design has moved on from the 90s and 2000’s. You can only comp to the latest builds. No, AT&T isn’t going anywhere (easily). There are only 3 MLB stadiums built more recently than Target Field. Must all new stadiums have the dimensions of Globe Life Park (a weird rhombus of 720ft by 810...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Atlanta is the only comparable stadium. Stop trying to throw out comparisons or sizes of obsolete designs. To fit the ATL stadium (730ft x 770ft) into the jail site it would have to be oriented to the north and would require some sort of decking over the highway (for a pedestrian plaza, not the act...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

it doesnt fit I measured a bunch of stadiums last night on Google Maps and it could fit with the NE, E, or SE orientation. To get a northward orientation it would be cutting it real close or require decking over that part of the highway for pedestrians. Whole thing assumes jail & state building...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I've spent some time tonight researching various stadium sizes along with parking requirements for an MLB stadium. I took some google earth screenshots for cities that share a similar transit capability as us (streetcar only, that would have a nearby stop) to see what we might be able to expect. The...
