Re: IKEA may be coming to Merriam Village

Great location. I don't get tearing down such a new development, but I guess there is not much to those strip malls. Go KC! Odd that KC got one before St Louis, but I'm sure StL is not too far behind. KC has about 2.7 million people between KC/ST Joe/Lawrence and Topeka which is about the market si...

You said they were down less than 10. That's not the situation I'm talking about. Just think your criteria for whether KSU is a "contender" is silly. KSU isn't legit until the the team is down 10-14 late in the 4th Q and the QB throws them to a victory. Don't you think this is a bit absur...

The fact remains, however, that a name change doesn't solve much if the University isn't dedicated to funding enhances in education, research and facilities. But, the University IS dedicated and has made great strides in these areas. Now, it's time to install a name that reflects these achievements...

Seems like a strange fit for a couple of reasons. Assuming it would be in the former Dillards lot: is there even enough space to put one there? I don't think that one the size of the Midtown store would fit on the lot.

18 of the last 19 candidates up in the polls at this point in the election, went on to win the popular vote, with the only exception being Truman over Dewey (Gore was also up and won the popular vote, but lost the electoral college). http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/24/the-statistic...

Ok, like I said before, he had one nice drive in the 4th. But, like I said before, none of those came at a point in the game when KSU had to air it out or lose the game - the game situations where they can't stick with the plan. Probably because he was never in that situation in the OU game? You're...

Re: 2012-2013 Big 12 College Football

I'm not trying to convince you that Klein's passing ability is anything other than competent. His passing performance , however, has been quite good. Mostly because our coaches recognize his ability and tailor the offense to his skill set accordingly. Let's keep in mind that he's completing 70% of ...

Re: 2012-2013 Big 12 College Football

Landry Jones is the better passer. Klein is the better QB and football player. Doesn't have an NFL arm. no argument. delivery is too slow. Doesn't have the arm to rifle the ball to the sidelines or gun it into small windows. However, this is also why our offense is coordinated to minimize these typ...

Re: Clerical overlook nearly costs Eastside 72 mature trees

These sycamore really do define this neighborhood. The areas without them feel more run-down than the areas with them. The city should replace every fallen tree AND place new trees where they were lost long ago. Wasn't the Parks Department complaining this spring about not having the money to repla...

So uh, K-State is like a thing this year, huh? I'm not getting on that bandwagon until Klein passes them back into a game they're losing by multiple scores. He was 13 for 20 (or something like that), but at no point did he inspire any confidence when he dropped back to throw. We counted 4 plays on ...

Re: Clerical overlook nearly costs Eastside 72 mature trees

Yeah, Los Angeles is cutting down 400+ trees on the route through the hood to the Science Center. The neighborhood organization there was quoted as feeling ''the city went behind our backs.'' 'Trash Trees?' Again, this is a clash of values- what's worth saving: cars' cleanliness, straight sidewalks...
