Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Ftr, we can go through your posts where you confirmed it. I'm very confident I know conversations happened which caused things to change with the people I said. Anyone who reads the local media knows this. You don’t have any evidence or confidential information. I’m not implying conversations did n...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Because the Star Printing Press is still on the mind of folks, I was told that it was recently considered a contender for a Target. That idea is more likely than not dead at this point. If people would like for it to be kept, I think you should demolish the southern half and keep the northern glass...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

We have to quit worrying about outfield views. It's so unimportant. Case in point royals wanted a stadium with at&t building as the backdrop. So lucky they aren't being this vein. This is one of your worst opinions you’ve consistently held. Views matter. You think Petco would be the gem it is w...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Remove the need for a public vote and this site still makes sense. Although I know you want to save the star building. It doesn't make sense to enough people, though. So best to just move on unless you've really got the time and energy to engage and commit to doing things differently. On top of the...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The development history of the Crossroads tells another story. Lots of adaptive reuse. (Relatively) lots of new multifamily construction. Hot office submarket (pre-COVID). Best restaurants in the city. One of the country's top hotels (which is adaptive reuse). Lively brewery/distillery scene. Argua...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My dream site remains the Manual Tech/ATA site: there's an entertainment district already built, that we already subsidize. It's investment on the east side, the Negro Leagues history is there, it would bridge the Crossroads to East Side gap, there's room to include parking structures in the plan, ...

Alehouse shut down because it went for the quick cash and not the long play. They reformatted the music and tried to be a bottle service type nightclub opposed the original idea of a great sports and beer bar. They've had too many tavern disturbances, shootings and other forms of violence, includin...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My fantasy site was East Crossroads and it almost came true but like everyone here agrees, they fucked it up.

I still do have a strong feeling it could happen because KCMO is going to help pay for it.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

There’s a lot of things happening and most of it’s conflicting. No idea at this point that the Royals are thinking. I’m not sure what the comment about them getting “bad advice” is about because they really led the charge on the plan, messaging and were adamant about being in the April ballot. I thi...

You clearly haven't been on that street after 10pm on a Friday or Saturday when it was open? If you did, you'd remember the street car racing and donut-polooza.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The Royals draw just fie when they are respectable. Not losing 90+ games. We stay on the pace we have set so far this season you will have near sellouts on the weekends by June. Biggest problem is over the last 30 years we are either in the playoffs or losing 90+ games, with a lot more of the latte...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I didn't make or get that joke but guessing it was as much about just being inept and not being able to get desantis very far even in a race full of weak opponents? Well, I won’t go down the political rabbit hole here but hate him or love him, Trump certainly doesn’t fit the label of a “weak oppone...

But also build more parking. 1 parking spot per seat to make the KC residents happy.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

They should hire a political advisor that’s worked with a famous democrat so they don’t instantly become a target like what happened last time. “Oh they hired a guy who worked for Desantis, he must be evil I don’t like it blah blah”.
