Re: Nelson Atkins - Moving Forward
Yeah, I don't understand the Nelson's weird plans. Leave the mansions alone. If you are going to build a new hotel...look two blocks away at Main. There is huge empty lot there. Create some new energy on Main! Why not keep the mansions AND make them a hotel? Prototype here in North Adams, MA and pa...

I always hoped that hotel could be renovated into a funky mid-century gem. Not many big retro signs like that left in KC.

Re: Pie Five,AT@T,Great Clips
A few are relocating locally. Wendy's already did, from across the street. Great Clips is moving from across the street. There are probably others. This is mostly a shuffling of tenants from an old strip center to a new strip center or attracting minor new tenants like Pie Five that would have locat...

Re: Whole Foods mixed-use project @ 51/Oak
Anyway, trucks could go on boulevards as long as it was going to or from a destination on the boulevard. I recall a story on the local news in the late '80s about someone that lived on a boulevard and owned an El Camino (a car with a pickup bed). Since those are titled as a "truck", they ...

Re: Whole Foods mixed-use project @ 51/Oak
while accurate, it's worth noting the trolley trail row actually starts just SE of Westport and Mill. it's intact next to that Embassy Suites. Why did the city demolish the old streetcar bridge? If the RoW is intact on both sides of 43d street, it's almost shocking that the bridge was knocked down ...

http://rhjohnson.johnweb.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Grey-Oaks-Small-Shops-BRO.pdf what do you hope goes on it? Pizza Ranch? Slîms Chicken? Potbelly? Something new to area? Buffet? Ozarkland? Andy's Frozen Custard? I hope a Peter Frampton Live Theater comes in. Who wouldn't want to watch Peter F...

Re: Lane4 may redevelop Red Bridge Shopping Center
It is freaky how similar that center is to the Corinth Shops in PV. Obviously the same owner, era and architect. Unfortunate, though about the strip of poo retail across the street to bring it down.

Perhaps...this 5 minute move-around makes more sense:
Single-family seems wasteful. Add a few more townhomes and parkland rather than more fenced-in yards.

What are the Boundaries of "Northeast Johnson County"?
I have seen many raggers reference discrepancies of what they think of as "NE JoCo". What are the west and south boundaries in your mind? West: Roe? Nall? Metcalf? Antioch? Quivira? I-35? I-435? South: 75th St? 87th St? 95th St? I-435? College Blvd? 119th St? For me, it is Metcalf(west) (b...

A little down the road, at 43rd & Rainbow, I saw the McDonald's has been torn down. I know nothing, but I assume they are building a new McDonald's.

Re: 159th Street next Retail area
I wonder if everyone who owns property in JoCo inside 435 realizes just how upset they should be with developments like this? We NEJoCo'ers know it and love it. These hinterland developments add more retail sales tax to keep our property taxes lower. At some point, when these hinterland projects ge...

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L
^What's going in a few doors down, next to Which Wich? Major overhaul of exterior. I am guessing some flashing/wall repair, but I am not for sure. I have not heard about a new tenant in the space. ...why would they make a repair like this if the high-rise housing proposal shown a few pages back was...

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
I thought this social media + real estate page is interesting. It allows buyers to express interest in a house not for sale or sellers to put a house "out there" before they actually list it for sale. This is a map of people expressing interest. Not much in the 'burbs or east of Troost (no...

As urban as you can get without a parking structure. No visible parking from Westport Road makes it a good contributor to the corridor.beautyfromashes wrote:Ok. What style is it?slimwhitman wrote:suburban style?
