A.G. Edwards Buy Out

I'm still trying to figure out if st. louis got the short end of the stick.  One thing the article did mentioned was that the Scottrade founder started his business in Arz. and later moved his company to his hometown.  KC hometown boys should consider during the same. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoda...

Re: St. Louis' MetroLink and Artwork

Your response above is just ignorant.  You didn't like it because it didn't take you to your destination?  WHAT?    Metro serves over 75 miles in STL and covers most of the major toursit areas, neighborhoods/districts, attractions, and everything most people (both residences and toursits nee...

Re: Why a Downtown Stadium Didn't Get Off The Ground

you people just ain't getting it.  it's about location, man, not how classic and great the "K" is.  heck, we all agreed to that.  downtown is where it should have been and we would not be even having these endless discussions.

Re: KC hosting the Missouri Valley Tournament?

Attended all of friday and saturday games in St. Louis.  There's no way this thing is moving anywhere.  22,600+ was the attendance on both games yesterday and today's game.  There's ton's of hotel options in St. Louis plus most are connected via Metrolink.  On top of that the MO Valley sponsors all...

Re: Help.. How do I do St. Louis?

Whoa.  Sometimes I wonder why some of you are on an urban forum.  Kirkwood and Webster are charming and all, but to say they're your favorite areas of St. Louis makes me question your experiences here.  There are literally countless neighborhoods that are far more impressive, most of which are in S...

Re: Help.. How do I do St. Louis?

As far as suburbs go, Kirkwood is great.  It's an older 'burb and has many beautiful houses.  There are a few on Kirkwood Road that look like they should be in the Garden District.  Downtown Kirkwood is nice.  A pretty drive (it's a better bike ride) is down Lockwood in to Webster Groves. you're ri...

Re: Kansas City = U.S. Tourist Mecca?

The only thing going for KC that makes it truly unique in the national eye is the jazz heritage. It's ironic that this city touts itself as the land of jazz and barbecue, yet we can't even keep a jazz station on FM radio. 18th and Vine is the key to making us a destination. Until this city embraces...

http://www.riverfronttimes.com/Issues/2007-01-31/news/feature_1.html this is a very inspiring, beautiful group of people.  the article is six pages long but well worth it.  are there groups like this in KC?  not necessarily Catholic Workers specifically (although that would be awesome), but grassro...
