Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)
I feel like most posters would be upset if someone proposed a 2 floor building. Can’t have it both ways. I, for one, would be delighted with having dozens of solid blocks of two story buildings in place of the seas of suface lots we have presently Same, especially if they were built with the abilit...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.
Looks great, wish it were a bit taller on main but probably smart as it gets it rolling sooner. Yeah MAC has been really good about not releasing anything that is vaporware Zoned B3-2 Maximum height 50 feet So it would need to be rezoned to go taller. Since 50 feet is well under 8-10 stories looks ...

Not related to this discussion but if we have to choose I really want this to go forward, over that one proposed in CC which is ugly as sin

Re: Metro Multi-Family Construction
Seems the city gets money from TIFs when they expire. Why not spend that money on affordable housing? We have many TIFs that will expire fairly soon. Where is that money going to be spent? Haha I agree and think they could allocate it towards affordable housing, but I also think any public discussi...

Re: Metro Multi-Family Construction
Linkage fees don’t really make sense in KC, as there is most definitely a net tax benefit from having the development than not unless they have insane tif Yes shouldn't be used but if so at most if significant incentives involved. The City should perhaps instead come up with an incentives program f...

Re: Metro Multi-Family Construction
Don't worry the City Council will impose linkage fees on new development just in time for the big slowdown in new construction as all those apartments get absorbed and rents keep staying flat (in Class A, at least). From the NPD Committee agenda this week: 210688 Directing the City Manager to issue...

Re: Four Light
Would love to see something like this for the future phases of Cordish's developments. Would really break from the design on 1-3 Light, Loews, and 1400 Baltimore. https://cdn.skyrisecities.com/sites/default/files/images/projects/22634/22634-68007.jpeg https://squireandpartners.com/assets/lib/2020/0...

Re: Metro Multi-Family Construction
I’m sure KC proper was the majority of the addition, do you know what standard number of people living in multi family is? I've typically seen around 1.5 to 1.7 people per unit for multifamily in KC. Hopefully they can keep that up, if they keep occupancy high could be an extra 4000 just in the cor...

Re: Four Light
Why does everyone hate the glass design so much? I've seen the argument that they want some difference in the buildings, but we have so many old shitty brick buildings sitting around it makes the glass look nice. Also, glass kinda represents "new, flashy, energetic". The absolute worst on...
