Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I sincerely believe that any downtown stadium is doomed if it relies on this metro to vote for it. Downtown is where you go to get your car stolen, stuck in traffic and get beat up by homeless people according to so many. We've not been able to change that misconception for two decades now. Voters ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I agree. If the vote were a near pass things would be different. They got clobbered. In the city and in the suburbs. The Royals may have dropped the ball but they also learned a lot from this vote. People in KC do not want a downtown stadium and if the Royals want to move downtown, they will have to...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Real question- why would the Chiefs moving to Kansas by the racetrack be bad? You could place it by the old Cerner building and use the space for team offices, the parking situation could be better formalized, and there are hotels, restaurants, entertainment and a casino nearby. The TSC site has no...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

unfortunately neither team will work with Jackson County again. They had been working behind the scenes for two years attempting to get a location approved. Which was I think Frank Whutes plan all along. In any case most unfortunate for sports fans in KC. The lack of leadership has lost the city tw...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Can’t wait to blast you later tonight after the vote! I hope you get to! I voted yes. I think the coalition of no voters is much broader than people realize. Agreed. It's a shame folks can't take the opposition seriously. KCT is wielding a pretty big axe with their constant misinformation, harassme...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

What's the difference between EV and EC to someone in Eastern Jack? I know so many people in eastern Jackson County. I feel like I'm one of the only people on this forum that has a lot of ties to eastern Jackson County. I have family and friends all over the suburbs there. The EV didn't excite anyb...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Oh and the other reason that so many people I know to vote no was they felt bullied. By both teams. Shut up and vote yes or we are leaving. Pissed lot of people off.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I think the save the crossroads did more damage than anything. You already had to overcome the suburban vote so once everyone latched onto "destruction of the crossroads", it was all over.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Sorry, but this is bad. This is not coming back to a county vote. No way. At the very best case, the state will have to put in a bunch of money to try and do a hail mary, but it will be for a much more watered down project. This grand project south of the Sprint Center is dead. My guess it KC is goi...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Grid finds other NFL stadiums boring, but also wants one of those boring stadiums. The bowl of Arrowhead can NOT legally be built again because if modern building codes and the ADA. We will not have the same amount of fans that close to the field and making that much noise, and with such great sigh...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

How’s it constantly make the top 3 “bucket list” stadiums on every single list that comes out if it’s just a “KC” thing? I could take an hour and share 10 links to these types of national fan voted polls but it’s a moot point. Here’s just one. https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/best-nfl-stad...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I think you’re overstating some of these opinions from much of the World Cup “Community”. Also, the “people I talk to outside of KC”. I think you have an opinion then try to cobble phantom support to back it. Huh? I agree it's a classic, but it's also dated at the same time. The renovations are not...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I don't think Arrowhead has quite the reputation people in KC think. Most people I talk to outside of KC just think it's kind of old and dated. Sure it's a classic, but it's nothing special. Much of the world cup community is somewhat confused as to why the WC is being held there. Arrowhead does not...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Most people I know voted no. That includes people in the city literally within the streetcar taxing district and people in the county suburbs.

I will be extremely surprised if it passes.
