Re: Small sign of BiState cooperation

All of those towns have several "regional" funding mechanisms in place.  No, they are not technically bistate, but this town could learn a lot from these other places.

Re: Northland I-29, Hwy 9, Hwy 45

Well, its like any high growth area.  Actually Platte is more of a "quality" growth area, since it doesn't really get anything besides upscale anymore, its housing starts are much lower than Clay County, but I think the average price of a new home in Platte is more than any county in the ...

Re: KS Side Arena Wars

RED is dropping out of the OP arena development.  If this "news" would have been for something in KCMO we would hear how KCMO screwed something up once again.  I'm guessing we won't hear the same out of this deal......just a prediction though. Oh you are just trying to start a KS vs MO ...

Re: Western WyCo

Yea, it's horrible, but I'm just saying people are starting to move there.

I'm not familiar with this area.  What kind of subdivisions are these?  Are they typical suburban lots or is is the large lot and even 5 acre stuff?

Re: Downtown baseball still alive?

^  At least we are not going to throw away 300 million.  You could finish funding the PAC, make the Zoo a decent Zoo and put in more attractions in Union Station with that money.

A full reno to the K, will not little for the Royals and even less for the city.

flea is differnt and you know it.  I would bet that if the city did back off and not do that road work that Stroud's will be gone in 10 years anyway.

They have already gone to Pittsburg, Mnnpls, Denver etc over the past several years and I have not seen one thing that shows me they have learned anything.

Re: Loss of Stroud's = Bad City Planning

Bitch about KCMO roads, bitch when KCMO fixes its roads. Shit happens and that area of town needs attention.  Strouds knew back in 1980 that 85th was to be widened and Troost is falling down. Progress sucks sometimes, but in another 20 years, Stroudes will be falling into itself and 85th and will st...

16th St Mall looked like Minnesota Ave in KCK for 10 years before it took off.

Re: Downtown baseball still alive?

Do what is needed now at Kauffman...if $40M does that, great.  Then get a team together now to study long term needs for the team.  Personally, I don't believe it is at the TSC...but let's start looking at it now.  See what the Royals are willing to do as far as money wise. This is the best solu...

Your mom better start tearing more tickets.  4000-5000 (in attendance) during the week is not going to work.

Petro on 810 just gave kcskyscrapers.com a major plug on the air.

But I can’t even find what they are talking about.  Where are the downtown ballpark renderings?

Re: Downtown baseball still alive?

If the Royals leave, the blame will rest squarely with Glass.  Downtown leaders and businesses are prepared to do a sweetheart deal to bring the Royals downtown.  The only thing holding downtown baseball back and as such, locking in the Royals for good, is Glass himself. Exactly, Glass needs to t...

Transportation Museum at Union Station

I think the success of this is proof that people want a first class transportation museum here and it would be very successful. We could really do something special here, so here is my dream of a world class Union Station museum. First keep Science City, but start over, if this can’t be done, then...

This thing is really getting overlooked by the locals.  I go often and can't help but notice this is another attraction that is all but ignored by the locals while tourists are realling liking it. They have opened the gift shop and it's real nice, you can now walk through what will be the main conc...

Drove by today, should have taken a few pics, but I really like it, it's not near as cheesy as I thought, and it compliments and contrast with the River Market area well.

Re: The Star: Pull Union Station out of mediocrity

The museum is great, this is what the museum needed all along.  But they need to start looking at ways to expand it.  After all the temp trains leave, there are three trains outside right now, including the steam engine, there will only be a couple of restored cars left.  I think they really need to...
