Re: Are you guys from KC?

I have to leave for a few hours, but I want to respond to your questions.

Moderators, sirs, would it be good to split this thread so those of us interested in image-manipulation wouldn't interfere with those who really care about the OP~KC thing?  :)

Just let me know where it is. And thanks!

Re: Are you guys from KC?

It looks like you did a good job with it, I can't detect anything wrong with it. Thanks much, but I shouldn't have used the blur tool on the grass. BTW, what version of photoshop do you use. I use Elements 4.0 (fairly elementary) but may take a photoshop class that could get me acquainted with CS2....

Anyway, does anybody have a GOOD stitching program? http://photos.imageevent.com/kcgridlock/aerialsstlurban/large/stitched01.jpg I think Photoshop is the best. I fussed a bit with your image. The sky was pretty easy, but the grass stripes were more difficult. I don't like the way i did it, but I gu...

Re: 72 photos of Kansas City in June '06

Roanoker, I've been trying to figure out how to work the text function in Photoshop, and I've managed to get a little better with it. I'd say so. Seriously, Photoshop is harder to learn than is generally believed, I think. A lot of it seems counterintuitive. I used it when it first came out, and I ...

Re: 72 photos of Kansas City in June '06

All wonderful. And congratulations, Tosspot! You figured out how to keep your signature from being a distraction (e.g., the duckbill in another thread). When it finally dawned on me that the signature appeared in an unusual place, I had to go back to the beginning and find it in every picture. It wa...

Uh-oh, did you get PERMISSION to take that picture?? (from a photographer getting fed up with nitwits asking if I have permission to do what I do) Ha ha! I actually asked ahead of time if it was okay to take pictures. (Yeah, I know. It's better to ask for forgiveness.) They said it was okay, as lon...

Re: When Downtown KC was a powerhouse - A must see for all

I don't specifically recall any toys...what I remember most saliently is going to the Venture store in Roeland Park (where the new Price Chopper is now) and my aunt would always immediately head straight for the clothing section. Yeah, that's some real fine stylin' there, getting your clothes at a ...

Re: When Downtown KC was a powerhouse - A must see for all

We used to take the streetcar, I barely recall. One more thing about those streetcars. (I can't remember what I ate for dinner tonight, but I can remember transportation in the 1940s!) They were powered by electricity. Two, very long, rather thin-looking, metal rods extended from the top of each st...

Re: When Downtown KC was a powerhouse - A must see for all

Eventually I broke the news to her that I hated, HATED going shopping for hours on end. Didn't she buy you any toys?! I always managed to get what was called a "story book doll." They came in wonderful, square-shaped, white boxes with brightly colored polka dots. It sort of compensated fo...

Re: When Downtown KC was a powerhouse - A must see for all

I remember as a child in the 1940s being dragged downtown by my loved-to-shop mother. (No malls back then.) We used to take the streetcar, I barely recall. (I was fascinated by the one light on the front. Why was there only one? Why did automobiles have two?) We spent hours trying on clothes at Klin...

Milton is cute!

I posted this in another thread, but it belongs here. This is my son's pug, helping himself to a treat. He's a Lee's Summit dog.

I was going to say something similar until I read your post. Love those turtles.

I like the close-ups. Sometimes you have to lie flat on the ground to get the good pictures. Enjoyed these a lot!

That's for sure. I went there with my son, daughter-in-law and--at the time--three-year-old grandson last October. I'd think anybody would like it.

other than the hip factor or the empty nester who made a buttload on the sale of his house in joco or just people who plain have lots of dough, when will they have condos that an average joe can afford? you can buy decent houses with a little space for under 100k, why can't you get a condo in that ...

Re: State of the Downtown condo market

Great article in the Star today, I still think KC has a huge untapped condo market, as I have always said and as the article states, only 3% of residential sales in this city are condos (including suburban condos), pretty low for a major metro area. Anyway, here's the link http://www.kansascity.com...
