Re: Flintlock Flyover is Open

The traffic was at 7:30 am--before there was any school activity at Alexander Doniphan. Traffic was backed up as far up Liberty Drive (toward 152) as we could see, down past our neighborhood near High/Marvel. See my post in the other thread. We had no idea any of this was happening when we bought ou...

Re: Cheddar's and S. Grcoery Store Shoal Creek

It's not the lights. It's the width. They added the lights and then added 20k people. The road was designed to fix traffic issues of the late 1990s. It wasn't designed for that many more people And I said it before, the flyover was designed to add cars into Liberty. Yes, that was planned as a goal....

Re: Flintlock Flyover is Open

What a disaster this thing is! We can't make a turn onto Liberty Drive from our street (which has no other outlet). It was a complete standstill on Liberty Drive this morning. This city really needs to get some decent people in the planning department. And then listen to them.

Re: Cheddar's and S. Grcoery Store Shoal Creek

They need to just put a lid on development. We've already got more than the roads can handle. Thanks to the new Flintlock Flyover, we now can't get out of our development onto Liberty Drive. What a nightmare. How could the city planners/engineers not have known this would happen? I sure saw it coming!

Just found out that Cork & Brew on Liberty Square closed a week or so ago. There's something about that building. Absolutely nothing makes it there.

Meeting Space?

I am trying to book a meeting room for a business-related workshop on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 am to noon somewhere--anywhere--in the KC metro area. I'd like to keep the space affordable, though this is not something I do routinely, so I don't know what prices for meeting venues even run. There wil...

Re: Despite downtown boom, office space sits empty

I'm no expert, but as someone who worked for many years (part of them in downtown KC and the Plaza around 40 yrs ago), I think that many companies that employee office workers realize that their best location is one where employees have conveniences nearby--so that they can run errands, do shopping...

Thanks, Fang. I may have fallen in love with the Union Hill Townhouse. As soon as I can get away, I will go check it out.

Re: Downtown for Retirees?

I was happy to find this thread. We moved to Liberty 3 years ago from So. Calif. I have not been happy living in Liberty or with the single-family home we have. I'd been thinking that I wanted to move to another large(er) house, but it suddenly struck me, as I was arguing with my 82 year-old mother ...

Re: weekend getaway - where to go within a 4-hour drive of K

Eureka Springs, AR is great. It's a surprisingly cool little town. Lots of creative people, fun bars, haunted hotels, some great driving roads and scenery. Here is some info about attractions in the area: http://pca-escape.org/about.asp I'll second this. Fairly new to the KC area, we just made our ...

Re: Liberty Triangle

Great news! That's the Liberty spirit--let's keep building whether the roads can handle the traffic or not. <thud> I am so sorry we moved to Liberty.
