Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction
i thought there were a few plans in the works for West side of Broadway. One around the old Denny's site and South. Building design is held up by the FAA right now on height issues. Then you have the Faultless site with LUX that is in progress but most likely will need to go to another developer. I ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
You could build this in a way that either preserved or created new retail opportunities along Grand, maybe even one or two with a view into the stadium a la Fenway. But also, nothing the Royals have shown so far suggests they have assembled a team that can do any of this with the kind of precision ...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza
They used to correct? I recall staying in the Old Muehlebach around 2003. The rooms had been updated and such and it was a nice enough hotel. But it had the skywalk connecting it to the Marriot as you could use amenities over there, etc. Did they sell it do the developer who was wanting to turn it i...

Complete cash grab and caters more to fans of other teams/Messi instead of catering to your own fans. Hate this. Uhhh. pretty sure SKC is not a non-profit company. Of course it is a "cash grab" as you call it. Any franchise needs to maximize every opportunity to generate revenue where &am...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I doubt Sporting KC is going to move anytime soon. Within the next 25 years? Sure I could buy that and given the history of EV's lack of development it may be still vacant and open by then.

If it is the CrossRoads really hope the EV gets something. Another 30 yrs of vacant parking lots is not acceptable.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Just posting this here. This is from a 2021 study for the 10.5 acre, 4 block site bound by Truman, Oak, 17th, and Grand. A stadium can tightly fit in there. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53452388999_010f16c93b_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53452073256_39bd894a28_h.jpg I was thinki...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the KC Biz Journal article mentioned 1 thing for me that tells the CrossRoads story. They mention that infrastructure there are the least, most likely because of the development that has taken place over the years. The EV is basically just concrete lots, so I can see that being a deal breake...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
honestly, at this point I'd love to end the speculation, have them come out with a definitive plan and show us detailed renderings and share the details of the development. All we have now has been a hope and some random renderings. I'd really like a decision to be made so everyone can focus on the ...

Re: POLL: Best Downtown Stadium Location
I think this is more about using a space that is ready to go and in an area of downtown that has struggled to have any kind of development for decades. Even with the EV location being a "stones throw away" from the vibrant P&L it has sat vacant with now movement. This is an opportunity...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I just hope they relocate any successful businesses in the path of the bulldozers if it is the Crossroads. I’d hate for the successes along Grand & in the general area just get wiped out. Also if it is the Crossroads I’d be really worried about the EV and it just left to continue to be a festeri...

If the location in the Crossroads is the old KC Star building then it will impact many businesses & individual property owners, and frankly be a gigantic cluster fuck of a process in what has already been a immense bumble fuck by the Royals Leadership & county politicians (excuse my French b...

interesting, as is the ark encounter place. Obviously they are pushing an agenda but just the spectacle of it is interesting to me. $60 bucks a person seems a bit steep but I guess the cost of enlightenment has gone up with inflation as well.

would love to see a top notch Natural History Museum or even one themed around the region and being the starting point for Western Migration. A lot of rich history to draw on from the immediate area, A Destination museum for Frontier Settlement & Exploration of sorts.

Re: What's going on in KC in 2024!?
KC Current stadium opens in 2024 I believe. Hopefully South Loop plans finalized & construction begins. Plus continuation of current projects and I'm sure a host of public works & infrastructure things will begin in earnest at some point in preparation for the world cup in 2026. This project...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza
Most projects it appears are DOA currently. Whether they are mid-stream or yet to break ground. Really hope ease in interest rates help bring some things back online. But certainly seems the developers on these KC projects are always one step away from insolvency.
