Maybe I was a little too critical of our downtown. But honestly, there is not much to do in the "downtown loop" area so to speak. There are a lot of urban attractions outside of the loop, but honestly not much of a reason to patronize downtown. List of things in downtown loop you can't do:...

I think August 31st is the deadline imposed by the EDC for TIF funds.

The deadline is approaching that will determine the fate of the Hotel President. Has anybody heard if Jury has secured financing for the project? It would be a real detriment to downtown and greater KC if both projects fail and the buildings are turned to rubble.

A lot of it probably has to do with the economy. Retail just isn't expanding like it was 4 years ago. Sort of......apparently a car caught on fire in one of the parking garages and the OPFD felt the need to evacuate half the campus....ridiculous. The really ridiculous thing about it is everybody had to vacate the campus for the safety of the parking garages
