Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.
As a former Westport Central resident ( & current tenant across the street in The Ellison ), I say "about freakin' time". This is great news - Westport Central has reaaaaaaally gone downhill since we moved 5 1/2 years ago.

Re: STROUDS
When I can feed 2 at my favorite chicken place for 2/3 of what Stroud's charges, I'm gonna find Stroud's expensive. I also don't get why I'm supposed to respect them because of their "local icon" status, when that's seemingly based on 2 things : 1. Loads of people like them. And 2. They've...

Re: STROUDS
Stroud's has long been on my list of places to try. So after living here for 15 years, we finally went there today for my b-day. Holy smokes, is this place overrated. Not horrible or anything, but just BLAND. And nowhere near worth the amount they charge. I grew up around great fried chicken - and t...

We used to have it delivered everyday.
Then we became "Sunday only" customers.
Now we just read the few things that interest us in the Star online.
Nice work, guys.

Re: Help Bring comedian Paul F. Tompkins to KC!
I had a feeling you might be a Never Not Funny listener. :) And the Comedy Death Ray Radio mention's not a surprise, either - since Paul F's on there all the time. That Andrew Lloyd Webber impression he did recently was freaking hysterical. You ever check out the Maximum Fun shows? I've tried Schar...

From KU's Rivals site: Brown's brother had recently been shot and was recovering in St. Louis. "Don't yes sir me, or I will send you back to St. Louis so you can get shot with your homies," Brown remembers Mangino saying. The Brown incident wasn't an isolated one. Other players recall Man...

I just noticed this today, heading to Cosentino's from the north. Shame about the Treat America connection, but maybe it'll come in handy for people in that neighborhood.

Re: The NEW Kauffman Stadium - post your reviews
Couple other notes on my Saturday visit :
1. We had the cheeseburgers - thought they were fine. Not fantastic, but certainly passable.
2. We went into the Dugout Concourse a couple different times, with no problem. Our seats were practically at the foul pole, but nobody stopped us or said anything.

Re: The NEW Kauffman Stadium - post your reviews
I can't wait to get out to the stadium during my trip to KC in June. What exactly is Buck Night? They've added that promotion since the last time I lived in KC. Hot dogs, small Pepsis, peanuts and mini-pretzels are just $1 each of the following games: • April 24 • May 15 & 25 • June 17 • July 3...

Re: The NEW Kauffman Stadium - post your reviews
I went last nite, & loved the new stuff. No problems with anything, & I gotta wonder why there's so much whining going on in this thread. I never had to wait in line for the bathroom or concessions more than a few minutes. Maybe it's the Buck Night plan that screws everything up. But frankly...
