Re: New Chiefs Stadium
plus they need to add a retractable roof system so they can bid for a Super Bowl, Final Four, etc. Adding the roof element will add more revenue opportunities for sure and the ability to host major indoor sporting events, on the National scale. Sacrifices come with a permanent roof, like fly-overs....

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
If the Chiefs just want renovation money- please use it on fixing the lot and the surroundings. Nobody gives a shit about "upgrading the stadium" at the end of the day because it's Arrowhead and it's perfectly fine. Just fix that stupid ass parking lot and the area around it. Build it up....

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
I seriously don't think Clark is considering building a new stadium. I do believe this is a smart play to get a ton of money for more renovations to Arrowhead. They can get creative on further additions to add more amenity space or larger retail. The stadiums capacity is the 6th largest in the leagu...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
The right location could spur some development. Look at the Jacksonville project Cordish is involved in. However, the stadium alone isn't enough. In Jacksonville, you have the St Johns river as another feature which makes residential possible. Here in KC, building out TSC with retail and residential...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
I'm opposed to leaving the current arrowhead in general but if they do end up moving, West Bottoms makes a bunch of sense.normalthings wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 4:26 pm West Bottoms is the only core neighborhood that I could maybe support.

Re: Four Light
Yeah I don’t get what’s attractive about that. Those setbacks are brutal and at best it looks like a hotel with the circle drive. Some people want to feel like they live in a high end hotel. Regardless, this design is very specific to the overall project in Texas Live so I wouldn’t expect anything ...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
It’s official: the 2026 World Cup host cities will be announced in a ceremony on June 16th in NYC. Here’s some news- Steven Goff of the Washington Post is reporting it could be up to 12 USA sites chosen instead of the original 10 There will be a local press conference in connection to this on June ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Time to negotiate, advertise, vote, design, build a stadium and open it by 2026 is running out. CM and Mayor today claim discussions with Royals about multiple sites have occurred but no site proposal nor a public ask. If they open in 2026, need to start construction in late 2023 or early 2024. Car...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
18th and Vine still needs our attention and some help. It can come up steadily with the right development but dumping a billion dollar stadium there just has zero upside.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Not to mention, why wouldn't you want to be close to PNL when Cordish has established themselves as the leader with these stadium/entertainment areas. Seems like they would be a critical partner in this and they won't support a Vine district stadium. They've not said that but it's understandable.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
^ I feel like you are scared that a ballpark in the Vine district won't help the P&L district. I really think that a ballpark anywhere in the downtown area (including the Jazz district) will be of tremendous benefit to the P&L district. The district can only support so many people and would...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Wish it could go on the west side of 71. 71 will create such a barrier if the stadium is east of the highway. I don't like East Village either though unless there is a serious plan to build up the area east of the freeway loop and or cover the freeway loop. I just don't see how sticking a stadium i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Where are you getting ready village is their first choice? Everything I've gathered is they are focused on on 18th and Vine space I’ve not got this impression. 18th and Vine is a feel good idea but not the smartest move or even best idea for this city. Baseball stadiums alone don’t guarantee develo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'm all-in on the East Village location and all-out on any other location. I just can't get excited about any other location as East Village makes so much sense and feels connected to downtowns entertainment hub.

One Rangers Way by Cordish was announced for Texas. This project isn't a high-rise but the design is great imho. https://www.wfaa.com/article/money/consumer/one-rangers-way-arlington-residential-development/287-34c15a28-5dc1-40f7-8344-0ea733ae50ec https://media.wfaa.com/assets/WFAA/images/a78abe0d-4...

I don't think anyone will build a dedicated sports betting casino but No Other Pub would be the first to feature sports betting in downtown KC once it becomes legal.Karambit25 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:14 pm Would an e-stadium work with a new Sports betting Casino downtown?

Re: E-Sports Stadium
It’s awesome. All your local teams in one area. Not for every city but works great for them.
